Yesterday I encountered no less than five or such outlaws around my level. However, due to running around with two lancers, the outlaws were the ones who couldn't get away fast enough.

Actually, this reminds me of something. Looking at the forums is confusing because this was something that is different between the NA and Korean versions of Tera. Namely, the hitbox normalization - I've seen people say either way on the whole "blocking hitbox" vs "being hit hitbox".

According to my understanding, these aren't the same, which makes sense, since blocking also depends on facing. But when they normalized the Elin/Popori "being hit" hitboxes to the size of humans/elves, they apparently did not do so to the "blocking" hitbox, which means there's an area ahove your head where you can be hit (in the air) but cannot block, because your hitbox for the blocking move does not go that high.

Can anyone with some experience with an Elin/popori (both were renormalized) tell me if you've experienced something like that?

I must say, the High Elf male plate armor models are amazing to look at, really nice works of art, and not ridiculously bulky like say the Human ones.

The Castanic male "plate" armor is so fabulous. It's a pity that in groups the lancer/berserker is in the thick of it and I rather be 10m+ away so I don't get hit by AoEs when in an animation.

After awhile you get used to the Elins really. It is quite hilarious to tank giant BAMs as an Elin. What I find most offensive is Amani females though. Apparently forcing all the women into high heels wasn't enough, for a race with hooves they decided they need to chop away the back to give them high heel hooves. What kind of stupid sexist crap is that!

But they do look somewhat ok just the feet are really really distracting.

There are some boss attacks like the sloth boss in BT and snake naga monsters who do jump hits and goes through my block even while facing them. From what I hear though, every tank has that issue regardless of race. Other than that I am able to block everything on my Elin Lancer.
Yeah, that one I think was a different issue, when mobs can hit you in the back though your shield. Something about the mob moving you, but their attack hitbox moves faster than you do, so at some point the attack hitbox intersects your "back being hit" hitbox and not the shield. Apparently with very steep attacks (like a mob stabbing downwards) an Elin etc does not have a block hitbox extending to the top of their being hit hitbox, so it smashes you. Though I daresay if you just moved back when you saw the tell, it would be less of an issue. (I want a berserker for farming.)

Mainly curious since apparently the way they did the animations for races like Elin/popori has them moving around more in various attacks and for elin in particular, having more range, despite smaller weapons.

---

When I was lower level my shoes were decently looking walking shoes with workable soles. Now all the high level blue shoes are, yep highheels. The type with really narrow heels (more like spikes, I think). Reminds me of one show where apparently the "female" gundam mecha thing actually had, you guessed it, highheels for feet.

Also, saw a Popori Slayer doing their jumping-with-sword animation. That one is the best.

I also noted that Elin berserkers seem to have an axe that does not shrink the axehead by much, but telescopes the whole handle into the axehead, so that it looks you have a massive chunk of metal on your back and then the handle just magically appears when you take it out. Think the same might be true for Popori, but because they are wider, it's not as obvious (same height though).

Yeah those attacks that "reach behind" you while blocking sucks. Those are my #1 source of damage when I solo BAMs. Worst part is that I don't have a good read on when that is going to happen, since sometimes they would all of a sudden do a forward or diagnal movement followed up by an attack that I normally know I could block so I get hit. But sometimes, they don't move enough and I still can block.
When the mob is moving it's attack hitbox this problem might turn up. Not sure how, but I'm pretty sure when killing BAMs with friend lancers that the mob will do a red eye tell, they will block and it charges into their shield.

Next thing you know, they're on the ground, the mob has walked over them, and they've taken maybe 10% hp of damage. This was with human/castanic, not elin either, so it's just a general block/back & mob attack hitbox thing. Presumably if they were "better" it could be avoided by moving to the side or something but it's not at all trouble to just heal them and at least this way we can be sure they blocked the big charge, even if the trample still got them. (Actually eating the charge is 50% hp or something).

Yes, it's called "templates". Everything below level 58 can be a template. But it has to be the same type of thing. So a plate chest piece can only look like another plate chest piece, and a staff must look like another staff.

Being ganked isn't too bad. Make sure to avoid channel 1 and in general the ones listed with high (or even medium) population. Or be in a group, gankers like easy kills that just walk to them and die, it seems.

No. Short of testing it, I wouldn't just go off whatever random person on the forum says. It shows a human, elin and popori as having the same sized box, and a baraka with a larger one...

I went about looking, there's people saying even after normalization there's still differences (female castanic & elin are small, baraka is big, popori and male castanic are medium) and then others saying it's all the same. Really confusing.

Of note though, if you're using elin in particular, your hitbox is not only taller than your model but also wider etc. So apparently if an AoE hits say a foot or so in front of you, you'll take damage.

I'd say place more balls. Balls are good. :hfive:
Mana balls are where it's at. Between that and the crit aura, it becomes a lot easier to get through encounters that rely on DPS checks (more mana, more crit !). But there is a reason why they're referred to in the class forum as "candy droppers" and "walking crit aura". There's also the mana regen aura.

The priest in ktera is getting more support skill buffs, if I remember. Triple nemesis will always debuff endurance, energy starts having a greater range for giving the buff and I think even stronger buff that last longer from ES. Seems the Koreans have the opposite, they greatly prefer mystics to priests, for the same reasons we prefer priest to mystic. The priest heals more, the mystic has better dps buffs.

Charge attacks cannot be blocked because BAMs are able to walk through you and then hit you when they are behind you knocking you over. You can counter this by tanking with your back to a wall, or dodging to the side and having them shoot away (not a good choice unless soloing)

This is one of the reasons (as well as not moving the mob) why you might want to tank with your back against something immoveable. Not rotating the mob is also a plus. (If it walks over you and turns around, your DPS are now right in front of it instead of behind ... for melee DPS, welp)

I believe you can help them finish quests (that are not repeatable) and in particular rush through story quests, which will give a great amount of XP.

Also, look about for blue weapons on the AH, in many cases, you might be able to buy one for only a little more than it vendors for. Compared to your income, buying them a stream of blues is nothing, and even for them, it's quite affordable to keep upgrading blues and vendoring the old ones.
