rio posted:e: Also, I hate watermarks. Am I cool with not watermarking? If someone really wanted to take an image I assume they can get it one way or another, and watermarks just seems so lame. I pretty much feel the same way right now, especially with the raft of bad HDRs posted around that have "(c) Photographer Name" watermarked in Papyrus 72 point. For a while I used to have a white or black border with my name and some of the shot's metadata in one of the corners, but I stopped even doing that.

Its just a flikr account but started shooting again about 3 months ago after a 5 year hiatus from doing photography stuff. They are all probably under the category of NWS. I have done about 5 sets now. I dont know any other people in the phoenix area, so I would love to hear other photographers talk crap about my shots. Seriously though I would be glad to get any sort of feedback about what I can do better. http://www.flickr.com/photos/93890500@N06/sets/72157633422332542/ <<<<<<< seriously NWS. Nothing crazy just classic nudes.

Oh, why not, it's always nice to see a little google analytics spike http://www.twt-photo.com/ I just visited it with a limited internet connection and it loads all wacky. It's probably time for a redo/rethink anyway... probably time to go Cargo Collective and not look back. Anyone know if their sites can be tablet-friendly?

Does anyone limit how many photos are in their portfolio? Obviously I'm culling while I add newer, better stuff. But should I limit a particular section to a number of photos? For instance the birds section now has 17. Is 12 better? 5?

How the hell did you get it to work if you are using that? I really like this simple, horizontal scrolling style. I'm going insane with these wordpress themes. They can be so finicky sometimes and I just don't know what I'm doing. My portfolio is all messed up right now.

You're trying to represent the best of your work. Be selective. Sometimes that means 5 photos, sometimes that means 17.

I just finished putting this together last week and I've tweaked it in some way every day since. My main goal was to collect the best of my work and also convey my personality while still maintaining a relatively utilitarian barebones design because I see a lot of port sites that just go way overboard on the customization and stylizing and I feel like it detracts from the actual images. I feel like I have accomplished my goals and so for now, I am happy. https://www.joeshootspeople.com smallmouth posted:Does anyone limit how many photos are in their portfolio? Obviously I'm culling while I add newer, better stuff. But should I limit a particular section to a number of photos? For instance the birds section now has 17. Is 12 better? 5? I think as long as they are representative of your best work, there's really no such thing as too many photos. A person should be able to get a good idea of your work/skill level from 5-10, but there's no reason there can't be more if they want to keep looking. As long as you're not throwing in filler photos so it looks more padded out, then I wouldn't worry about numbers. 842 posted:http://www.flickr.com/photos/40496731@N02/ I think there is definitely enough solid work here to warrant a portfolio. I think you need to shoot more commercial stuff if you want to use it to find paid work, though.

^^ might be kind of nitpicky but I think the title "regular people" is a little awkward, like there might be a better word you could use. Like, what's the difference between a regular person and a fashionable person? Are street people not regular people? I understand what you mean but the average visitor might not.
