I chalked it up to Saban getting back in the sentai game after a long absence and having to find their footing again, but I think I made it through half of the first Megaforce episode before letting my hopes be crushed. Gokaiger is one of my favorite tokus and I'd hate to watch it be sullied. edit: I wonder if they can get Sakamoto back to direct Dino Charge. It makes sense since he directed the source material to excellence, but I don't think he's done any PR stuff for a good long time. Oh, I'd absolutely want to see that, believe me. Hopefully Gosei would follow that up with "Once you see them, you'll understand why I kept them from you until they were needed." It's a shame that the BFJ tribute episode was a Christmas episode and the Flying Ghost Ship BFJ footage probably wouldn't work -- I'd really like to see how they'd handle all that. Semi-related: JDF posted yesterday that his S. MegaForce episode wasn't going to air until October or something. Did they split up last season like that with half at the front of the year and the other half at the back? I don't give a poo poo about Goseiger, so I didn't watch last season.

Kakuranger is like a graduate-level course in Japan Is Weird. edit: Oh, and once you've gotten a good taste of the sentai formula it's time to watch the Go-Busters V. Go-Busters movie because it's ridiculous and turns that season on its head.
