Residential / Commercial sector. I think I have this "urban planning" thing nailed :v:
And yeah, as you can see sometimes portions of the bulding models just don't load. :iiam:

I bought this for myself and friends because of the hilarity of the Simcity (2013) thread, but I can't get the Fhuzo map working. (the cool looking one that uses Old-Fashioned). I have Old-Fashioned installed, Fhuzo is placed in my Regions folder, but it's not detecting it in-game.

Is it in Regions folder that is in My Documents? Because there is Regions folder where the game is installed, but the game reads only the one in My Documents.

edit: ha! :)

Also curious if someone knows of something like this. I just installed the Old Fashioned pack and my plug-ins folder is kind of a nightmare now, and the game is taking forever to load.

I use this http://download.cnet.com/Auslogics-Duplicate-File-Finder/3000-2248_4-10964299.html

You have the version of Fhuzo region that requires certain tree mod.
edit: This one, I think? http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/28296-pacific-northwest-tree-controller/

There is a link to no plugins version in the OP:

Turns out, I had a backup.

Looks like poo poo but is rendered without any plugins. I forgot to do some smoothing on a few coasts, too.

Download this and extract it into your Regions folder, rename as you see fit: http://www.dieanothertry.de/files/FhuzoNoPlugins.zip

e: oh and there's no heightmap, it only came with a SC4M file to load into Mapper or Terraformer.

How can I build and maintain my city within the budget? I always keep on running out of money and not getting enough through taxes so I'm hosed.

Keep your spending tight. When you build a school , click on it and slash that slider almost all the way to the left, like 10% or so. Wait for a bit as it fills up and then check on it from time to time to move the slider to the right. Do the same for hospitals, powerplants, etc. Plop your fire station only when the first fire starts and don't bother with the police until you've got big enough income.
