Step 1: Listen to Rated R on mushrooms and have S/T ready to play next, followed immediately by Kyuss' Blues For The Red Sun and Welcome to Sky Valley to ride the rest of that trip out.
Step 2: Listen to SFTD the next day.
Step 3: Listen to LTP only after you've made a some really terrible mistakes in life.

It's somewhat cute. You guys aren't teenagers or something right? gently caress I feel old.

Please don't mosh or crowdsurf, that poo poo ain't cool.

Calgary, April 10th 2005. I was 18, high as a motherfucker, and ended up crowdsurfed to Long Slow Goodbye. Josh made a comment after that if you can crowdsurf to that, you can crowdsurf to Lawrence loving Welk. I have the bootleg of that show and will never tire of listening to that bit.

FLAC rips of the two new songs and MGITS from the Studio Brussel show have been posted on thefade's main forum. Quality-wise it beats the gently caress out of the Soundcloud and other versions that are spreading around. I'm quite digging both of these new ones, though I really want something heavy. I'm also curious to find out what ends up as b-sides this time around...

Leaked three weeks before release. :stare:

Edit: About 2 minutes into Smooth Sailing sounds like it was lifted almost directly from the chorus in the song 'Always' on the Masters of Reality album Pine/Cross Dover.

I am disappointed. This is not the same QotSA that I learned how to smoke weed to. The album seems to lack a sense of purpose, and the whole thing seems superfluous.

Also, If I had a Tail is ripping off Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones so loving hard it's not even funny.

Fuckin' rights. First shows off of their Euro tour are in Edmonton, Calgary, and Squamish Valley. I braved the Alberta corridor for Eagles of Death Metal in 2009, wherein I ended up with a girlfriend for three years and a huge rock chip in my windshield, and now that I'm single I'll have to do the whole thing again. And seeing as how I've crowdsurfed to Long Slow Goodbye, my new goal is to crowdsurf to the title track from this album and complete the circle.

Worth it.

Anyone know whatever happened to the "Salt Mine" DVD they we going to do? That never came out, right?

I, too, am tired as gently caress. Stayed up watching the concert, woke up at 6am to ensure that I would be the first person in line to a surplus sale where I got an amp and two keyboards worth about $3000 for only $300, now I'm at work, at a job where I am payed to listen to music. Things could be worse. :buddy:

And the Salt Mine DVD may never see the light of day because of some sort of disagreement between Interscope and the band, hence why they moved to Matador.

Just got back from the Calgary show. It was alright. The only song they didn't play from the new album was the title track, so it was a bit top-heavy in that regard, but In The Fade and Better Living were kickass. I couldn't stay out of the pit as soon as Sick Sick Sick started but ended up getting the wind knocked out of me during Feel Good Hit (go figure). All in all it wasn't the best QotSA show I've ever been to, felt more like going through the motions. There were no songs leading into other songs, no extended jams or breakdowns (except for a pretty sweet Jon Theodore drum solo), no witty banter and minimal crowd interaction, but the crowd was actually really loving good this time around. Lots of crowdsurfing but everyone was there to have a good time, it wasn't anywhere near the level of bullshit violence as say a Clutch or Turbonegro show, or even the last few times I've seen Queens for that matter. This was either my 6th or 7th time seeing them live (lost track) and the only thing that would surprise me at this point is hearing them play something like Sky Is Falling.

I also stumbled onto Hutch's sound rig in the middle of the set and saw that he had one screen devoted to a Pro Tools session recording the whole show themselves. I asked him about it afterward and he told me they record every show they play for posterity, and hinted that there *might* be some sort of upcoming live compilation CD with the best performances of the tour. Hutch is the most rad dude. If you see him at a show, go talk to him. Nicest guy.
