First one that comes to mind is Final Fantasy. FF4, 6, and 7 get a crapton of love for being the first FF people experience, just as EoSD is the first major foray into Gensokyo (PC-98 excluded). PCB was my first Touhou game, thus the PCB crew remain my favorites out of the series. I think the first one leaves a stronger impression.
