I admit that I was taken in for a moment before I remembered that it was 1 April.

Geez, the comic hasn't even been fully translated yet. I know you have that redtext avatar and everything, but in the future could you possibly wait for the translation to finish before posting links? Thanks.

Star Wars, Indiana Jones maybe, Die Hard, the Dune novels. Lot of the time it is just the first (wide release) piece of media is the one people latch on to. Although that isn't really the case for Touhou since it blew up with MoF. It's probably more that the Scarlet Devil Mansion (and Cirno) are all evocative and distinctive Touhous with catchy music, well-defined roles, multiple merchandise presences and three of them are little girls.

And ESoD isn't the first Touhou game :ssh:

Was it Mountain of Faith that saw the series really take off in popularity? I always thought that it happened around the time Imperishable Night was released.

This is pretty much how I cleared Imperishable Night, as well...

Does anybody know what types of beer ZUN likes, specifically? If he doesn't like American-style lager, there are always microbreweries that produce other varieties.

Also :wtc: at that logo.

Admittedly, if Mima were to actually make a return appearance in an official Touhou game, it would be an indicator that ZUN is letting the fans dictate what he creates. And no good could possibly come from that.

Even though Shikieki should be a playable character. :colbert:

And yeah, the photography games are hard as balls. They basically run the whole range from Stage 1 Easy to Stage 6 Lunatic difficulty-wise compared to other games, so if you're only used to the lower difficulties that stuff becomes impenetrable quick.

They are not, the two games are crazy hard from the beginning. I've 1CCed Perfect Cherry Blossom and Imperishable Night on Normal, and have yet to get through stage 2-2 on Shoot The Bullet. :sigh:

I think EoSD is probably the game in which having Master Spark makes the most difference (with the incredible spam from stage 4 onwards and no armor at the beginning of spell cards). MarisaA's bomb is pretty bad and she doesn't have the lasers to help with stages.

Yes, but her missile-shot type covers more area and does more damage, so it all works out. Plus, christmas trees and stars look nicer than big ugly lasers. :colbert:

It was inevitable that Touhou would eventually crest, then recede; like all fads, it couldn't sustain itself forever. The fact that it's being replaced by Touhou-but-with-loli-strippers-and-jingoism is really disappointing, though...
