The line for the Blumhouse house in HHN2022 was the Fast and the Furious queue and it was so long and boring.

Yeah, they closed disaster back when for exactly the same reason. The reality is they’ll never put a house in an active show building, they’d have to drop an attraction for basically the entire summer season to build it out. e: they could use the old nick/bmg soundstages or part of it, I dunno how much room Grinchmas takes up or if they’ll even do that this year. Definitely room for two houses in there if it’s actually empty and there’s probably enough room to build at least one queue. Coasterphreak fucked around with this message at 07:54 on Apr 6, 2024 |

Last year they had five houses in the various soundstages. There actually is room for more, as each soundstage can hold two houses. The problem is queue space. With five they are basically maxed out for queue space as well as entrance/exit paths.

There's no physical park capacity for 12 and they'll never do the split of tossing it in IOA again since it gives people who don't do horror nights somewhere to go (assuming they didn't close the park at 5 for a private event like they love to do). Kid Zone construction caused chaos on the queues last year so this year it should be a bit better. You can see the pathways to the backstage areas are there, which is nice. It's always a bad queue in both design and wait, though HHN queues are rarely ever interesting because they're temporary. I just find that whole area so disinteresting and I cannot wait for them to put literally anything else there.

Maybe once Epic opens they can afford to expand HHN across both IOA and Studios.

There are a few reasons HHN will never be in/partly in IOA again: - requiring shutting down both parks early. - licensing issues with the lands. For this reason I don't really see it moving to Epic either, especially since Epic itself will be a huge draw for a while. USF is much easier for overlaying horror theming. - IOA has far less space to set up queues and houses. - IOA mostly has very narrow walkways and can't handle the capacity that HHN necessitates these days. In fact, the capacity of Studios is higher during HHN than during normal day operation due to how huge and plentiful the house queues are.

I could see them using Epic to do a family friendly Halloween Party similar to Disneys, since there is far more kid friendly stuff going on (minus Dark Universe) I don't think we'll ever see HHN go to another park besides Studios because it's just a logistical nightmare. Studios itself is becoming a bit of a nightmare, but it seems like they might build more Sprung Tents to make up for it. I hope if they do that they create a portal entrance to that area and let you come and go as you please like Hollywood with the backlot, because constantly going out that long-rear end exit to ET is a PAIN IN THE rear end

That day is blocked out for the 2 lowest passes, which is usually a good sign that it's a high traffic day.

The reason I say IOA is because Lost Continent is literally a giant Coca-Cola stand, a spitting fountain, and a mediocre restaurant that was last good fifteen years ago. They’re clearly preparing to do something with it. (Zelda) In studios, the next big attraction will be in Hollywood where the makeup show was because the employee building occupies the space right behind it and afaik all of that is going to the ginormous new building at EU, likely before the end of the year. Also worth noting is there’s a ton of backstage space behind LC, including what is presumably the admin building for one if not both parks.

I am headed there then. Not sure if I should spend the day at the pool, head to UH, or hit Knottsberry. Never been to Knottsberry before. If I wanted to knock out all the good poo poo that time of year, would I need their fast pass or whatever they call it? edit: I guess I'll add this too. I'd like to hit up UH and Knottsberry while I'm there. I figure UH on Sunday and Knotts on a weekday. My logic is that UH is less a pain to drive to on Sunday than during the week. The downside of course is it would be more crowded, but I suspect it would still be manageable that time of year. Good idea or bad idea? The riverboat is IMO the biggest "hidden gem" of MK please don't IP it up I try to convince people all the time to ride it because it's the best possible escape from the crowds and unwinding on a crowded afternoon. It's really soothing and relaxing. No one ever believes me and they always skip it.

DAS is getting a work over, which is a good thing. DFB has some basic info but there will be more per disney in the next couple of weeks. The biggest bestest part is that they're extending DAS to 120 days instead of having to renew every 60.

They have two humongous theaters that have been abandoned for ages, and the now empty PF building. IOA is my favorite park, but it has way too much dead space right now. With that said, all the rumors point to Studios related work being next up. I can't remember what is and isn't from the Theme Park Stop patreon, so I don't want to be too specific, but I know one of the big rumors for Inside Universal was a Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit replacement coming next year that's Fast and Furious (not a hollywood clone) Intamin controlled spin coaster. You compound that with the Simpsons license expiring in 2028 and the rumors of that land closing sooner rather than later, and the upshot of a F&F coaster at UO would be Supercharged almost certainly getting the death shot for something new. There's going to be a lot of work happening at both those parks over the next 3-4 years. By 2028, Studios is going to look like a wildly different park than right now.
