That was pretty good, but Steve Lee would have gone to completion . I'm thinking of buying a forum banner ad for the show/this thread, if someone can make a good one.

I love Poon more and more every episode. And yeah, this one was listened to at work on an incredibly low volume, haha.

This is old news, but the instagram for Cusackaveli is pretty great. I guess this stuff is from the period Dave was talking about when John wanted Dave to teach him art, but Dave insisted John do graffiti. Dave mentioned wanting to get John to go over MS13 graffiti so he'd get killed by gangsters. I think these are all done by Dave's pals and are goofing on John more than anything, but maybe someone else knows more about it. Was Culkin Christ ever mentioned on the podcast? Not sure what that's referencing. e- http://instagram.com/cusackaveli Snowy fucked around with this message at 20:19 on Apr 17, 2014 |

Like a lot of the internet today, I just listened to the episode where David Choe tells his story about the masseuse... and it was excruciating. It was like listening to a college freshman brag about a nonconsensual sexual encounter he had and being totally unaware of why his actions were wrong. Every other minutes he digs himself into another hole with another comment about her not wanting to do something and him doing it anyway. And just so we know where I'm coming from, I understand the context of the show. This isn't my first listen. I subscribed to the first 6 episodes or so when it premiered before deciding it wasn't for me. And I've been aware of Choe even before he got notoriety for his Facebook haul because my stepdad is a longtime LA/SF street artist. So with all that being said, this was just a dude straight up admitting he raped someone. Unless Choe really is just making this whole thing up, which is almost as bizarre... It does sound like he's making stuff up in the story, but what sounds fake to me is the ending. The woman asked him for his number after all of that? Asa rightfully called him out on that not making sense. Sounds to me like someone wanted to end the story on a slightly consensual note after being accused by Asa of rape.

That whole story was BS. From the massage to the "oh you're so cool!" ending. All of it. He just made up a story he thought was cool, got called out on it, then back pedaled.

The Experiment posted:That whole story was BS. From the massage to the "oh you're so cool!" ending. All of it. He just made up a story he thought was cool, got called out on it, then back pedaled. I don't buy that. I mentioned that he sounded like a college freshman because unfortunately I had to listen to multiple bros in college tell variations of that same story. It's classic example of how most rapes are perpetrated by someone the victim knew and not by some random stalker breaking into windows. In this case, it was a client she had previously worked on. If 95% of the stuff he says is fake, why does anybody listen to him? What do you get out of a guy who thinks rape stories are cool? I'm not one of those people who think rape should never be joked about, but even a rookie open mic comic knows you're supposed to have SOME jokes in your rape story. After Asa accused him of rape, why would Dave say that he had been sweating for the last 10 minutes if he was just bullshitting? He's sweating because he realized the difference between what he had done and what he had been telling himself to make it OK. The absolute best case scenario in this situation is that David Choe is a 37 year old man who tells fictional tales about grabbing a sex worker's head against her will and shoving his cock into her mouth. And that doesn't add up IMO. He's not an imbecile like the chuckling guys in the background. WerthersWay fucked around with this message at 17:07 on Apr 18, 2014 |

Mordecai Sanchez posted:I don't buy that ... So did you write this article? If not your timing is impeccable...in that its like a month or two after the episode aired. And with this show that would be at least a month after they recorded the episode. Similar articles were posted on Gawker and Buzzfeed. Vice on HBO coincidentally played a rerun instead of the scheduled episode featuring Dave today. The internet really loves latching onto things they know nothing about and telling everyone how offended they are. At least you actually listened to the show so you have an idea of the context and Dave's tendency to BS/exaggerate. There are people who know nothing about the show or the people on it now calling Dave a rapist. Context isn't important, all that matters is some site like XOJane or some popular Tumblr user decides to sic their followers on someone and they all rush in to say how outraged they are and how this person they never heard of before today needs to go to jail or be publically flogged for saying something stupid. And I'm not defending Dave's story either, even I found that episode to be going too far, and it was only redeemed by Asa calling Dave out and laughing at how fake the ending to the story sounded. But I get what kind of show this is. I know that Dave is a millionaire with a publicist that probably wouldn't let him incriminate himself on air and leave that episode up. I get that Dave plays up his offensive/misogynist character for entertainment reasons. Is Gawker going to run an article titled "Facebook Graffiti Artist hires escort, puts caviar in her butthole" too? To sum it up from Dave's perspective, in the wise words of Val "You don't know me". bowser fucked around with this message at 05:16 on Apr 19, 2014 |

I would refer you to the very first sentence I wrote, "Like a lot of the internet today, I just listened to the episode where David Choe tells his story about the masseuse." Stop being so defensive; this guy is the host of a podcast you like, he's not your brother. We both know absolutely nothing is going to happen to Choe and that this will all be forgotten next week, so it ultimately doesn't matter. And even if something did happen legally, he has more than enough money to make it go away. quote:Is Gawker going to run an article titled "Facebook Graffiti Artist hires escort, puts caviar in her butthole" too? I didn't listen to that particular episode, but did the escort give him consent to do so? In his real/fake caviar butthole story, was the sex worker physically forced to perform an act after repeatedly saying no? If she gave consent, then there's no story for Gawker or Buzzfeed or Feminist Website X to write about. If she gave consent or that story is fake, then David Choe is only guilty of being hipster Tucker Max. WerthersWay fucked around with this message at 05:50 on Apr 19, 2014 |

He's told stories about her throwing poo poo constantly at his house, and most of it aimed at his head. He also spoke about her making herself puke to stay skinny and model, after he dumped her she did her best to stay somewhat famous by making up a story about a guy on a plan that was married trying to gently caress her. She'll write anything she can to try and get any heat.

I'm not a huge fan of the ranch episodes since they just go over stuff Dave has talked about a million times before. I guess that's true for the David Chang episodes too (aka DVDDVD?) but I don't know, I really enjoyed both of those so far. Something about two people who have 'made it' talking about life and the problems they face is just interesting. Choey's story about the hard ice cream was hilarious. But yeah, the next episode needs to have at least one Lee brother on it. I want Steve's review of the black-rear end sex toy.
