homebrew is probably the only useful non-web thing written with it. it's still a horrible language with an even worse community though

ruby is bad not as much because it's slow and is mostly used for web poo poo, but because of the way that a majority of ruby programmers write their code. also there are way too many tdd zealots who are worse than any javascript obsessor

basic vim knowledge is okay for when you absolutely have to use it for some dumb reason but there isn't really any reason to not use a modern solution unless, again, you use a terrible plang

For example below we translate to the point (500px, 200px), rotate by 180deg, scale by .5, skew, and alter colors within a 2 second duration. Once the animation is complete we then() fade out the element by setting the opacity to 0, and shrink it with scale(0.1).

code:
move('.square')
  .to(500, 200)
  .rotate(180)
  .scale(.5)
  .set('background-color', '#888')
  .set('border-color', 'black')
  .duration('2s')
  .skew(50, -10)
  .then()
    .set('opacity', 0)
    .duration('0.3s')
    .scale(0.1)
    .pop()
  .end();

this has happened to me and basically you just have to look at it as a company you don't want to work for. it's pretty inexcusable to do if you get to the in-person stage.

iirc dash was originally good and then the pay thing made it garbage but idk

if you wanted the super cheap and lazy route you could private gist everything

actually thats a p decent idea, an app where you can submit gists and throw flags on them with an @ sign or something then query all related gists based on the title. the github api would support it afaik
