The most likely result is the Nikumi option, where Soma points out that Alice has lost touch with the heart of the cardscooking and forgotten the basics, wowing the judges with something completely mundane and overlooked.

Huh. I didn't know they scheduled ero-manga at all, I figured it was all done on the convention circuit with occasional selling to some magazines. Your argument is valid.

Doujinshi implies/is defined by self publishing, while ero manga is pretty much just the porn version of the manga business. Ero manga is collected in phone books/magazines by publishers, just as Jump and Sunday are, and released on a monthly schedule.

Due to the nature of the business, there isn't exactly a lot of serialized story in these phone books, so a lot of these artists aren't on a strict month-by-month schedule - they'll usually run 3 or 4 times every 6 months if they're popular, and maybe once or twice a year for the up-and-coming names.

If none of it is cooked in the same pot, is it even stew? Granted, it wasn't required to be stew at all. Souma just decided to use beef stew for the contest, so this beef assortment in a miso sauce thing isn't breaking any rules.

That's what gave Mimasaka the Criss Angel Mindfreak(tm). He thought they were fighting on a beef stew battlefield, and then - BAM - Souma shows him that it's actually The Wizarding World of Beefy Potter.

Drawing porn makes you appreciate all forms of anatomy.

Actually, a ton of porn tries to minimize male presence on camera in order to facilitate the self-insertion fantasy. In animated/illustrated form you can go an extra step and eliminate this to the point of having Invisidick(tm) be the only thing even close to male anatomy anywhere on a page.

This series is getting picked up in the US imprint of Weekly Shonen Jump, by the way. Yes, it is still called "Food Wars" for some loving reason.

A lot of the time, the English name is dictated by the Japanese creator or publisher. This is how we got Rumbling Hearts, for example.

Plus, I have zero problems with the name Food Wars because it actually describes what is going on.

The big rumor is that Soma is getting an anime announced in the next issue, as well. The scanner had said they thought one was coming it because there's a big center color and cover in next issue and ANN reported it because some distributors marked an anime for pre-order or something before taking it down.

There was a tweet from a bookstore that has since been deleted, as well.

From what we've seen of his work on the side, he also seems like he's really good at delegating, so he doesn't have to look busy all the time in order to get stuff done.

Megumi vs. Alice would actually be very interesting because their cooking styles are radically different. Erina's would just be good because she is good- she lacks any real defining characteristics.

That's why I'm excited about her showing up at the end of the chapter looking envious - once she's allowed to be a character and not just an object of worship, we could find some defining characteristics that make her interesting. She hasn't been allowed to do anything herself yet, though, so she's just sitting around while everyone else gets defined personalities and developed rivalries.

I think it'll be have the place generate the most profit with the caveat being that it would include selling the restaurant to another company.

I don't think that shows off enough of what Hishoko and Soma both have to offer, especially in a complementary fashion.

Soma can use his restaurant experience to improve the kitchen, Hishoko can improve the hell out of their communication and their end to end process, and everyone can come out feeling better about their ability to work in a real environment. Hishoko will get the hands-on experience she needs to realize that sucking at something is the first step at being kinda good at it, and Soma can do his Shonen Protagonist thing and learn how to adapt her methods to his own work.
