Most of their fighting seems like typical 'men think logically, women emotionally' stuff, they could easily work it out if he didn't work so much. I think its strange that she's willing to be so open about this family issue on his podcast network.

When it comes to Lynette complaining he isn't that involved with the kids education I'm usually on Adam's side since he works incredibly hard to earn a good living and as far as I know Lynette doesn't work nearly as many hours as him (does she still have a job even?) plus they have a full-time nanny. My dad was the same way, didn't take a big interest in my education and spent most of his time building his business and I turned out just fine. Keep in mind too they live in LA where things are way different than the rest of the world, parents are expected to be super involved with every aspect of school, like Adam often talks about. My dad would have never taken a whole weekday off to run a bakesale or something for my class, no way. I think Adam deserves a little more slack in that department, though admittedly we don't know the full extent of it.

On the other hand, Adam being an rear end in a top hat like in the fish taco incident or bitching about leaving lights on and caps off of jars is completely his fault and I totally agree with Lynette about that.

I'm also willing to bet that Adam's latest foray into therepy is an ultimatum by her.

The name and marketing for the show made it seem like something it wasn't. It was actually just a funny sketch comedy show. I wonder if Adam's career would have gone differently if that show wasn't based around "manliness" or whatever. If it was just presented as a regular sketch comedy show with two guys hosting.

Adam did a great job of describing it once by saying the media painted it as a chauvinistic show where they put down women and praised men, but men (and most often Jimmy and Adam themselves) were always the butt of the joke. Really I think it was the girls jumping on trampolines that everyone picked up and ran with without actually watching the sketches.

Yep, I tapped out about 10 minutes into Dennis Prager's segment today. I was going to give it a shot because I'd never listened to him before, but there's just something about his voice and the way he speaks. I feel like I'm listening to AM radio and I have this visceral reaction. Carolla bloviates on a lot of the same subjects, and I'd imagine not as informed as Dennis Prager does, but Carolla at least works in some dick jokes now and then or something. Dennis Prager makes me feel like I'm being preached or lectured at.

Prager is the absolute biggest blowhard I have ever heard. He's like Rush Limbaugh only more self-righteous, and you're right he has the most stereotypical AM radio voice, he's like a cartoon character. I even agree with a fair amount of what he says but he has a way of overblowing smaller aspects if bigger issues and sounding like an douchebag. A good example of this is when he started complaining about fathers calling their sons "buddy". He talked about it like it was a huge problem, which is ridiculous. His underlying point is that kids should respect their fathers and fathers shouldn't strive to be their sons friends and undermine their parenthood, which I agree with, but if I call my son "buddy" it has nothing to do with that, it's just a friendly greeting.

You guys have made more inroads on that than most races, in the US at least.

Yeah it's a racist thing, not wanting to mix races, but Adam calling it out doesn't make him racist. Also, I've known a couple people who simply aren't attracted to certain races and I know they're not racist. That caller was weird though, she has a black boyfriend who she loves and has sex with but she doesn't want to have kids with because she doesn't want black children? Is she a racist? Yes and no, I don't know.

"We've crafted a society" where if you even mention somebody's race you're branded a racist so it's hard to know what the term really means anymore but in my mind you have to have some sort of hatred, fear or distrust of a certain race of people to truly be racist. Adam says a lot of racist things and has a lot of biased and ignorant opinions on race that make him sound like a huge biggot but I don't think he harbours any real negative feelings towards any race in particular.

Honestly, I really enjoy some of his points and I'm not trying to be the PC Police here, but it's becoming increasingly clear as time goes on that Adam has lovely viewpoints about a lot of things. Perfect example - for a dude who hosted a sex advice show, he's pretty behind the times on trans issues.

E: VVV Well, it's only one example. There's also his views on taxes, anything to do with government, his idea that we should basically practice eugenics with stupid people, etc.

Also, there's a way to admit that you don't understand a lot about trans issues without being a shitheel about it. Adam did not choose that way.

I have no idea what "dog whistle racism" is but I just see Adam as a simple minded, old fashioned, practical guy who is too stubborn to admit that he doesn't have all the answers. If you think he's racist then fine, but I don't think there's anything hateful or malicious behind the things that he says. Ignorant and short sighted sure, but I don't think he hates black people or Asian people or whatever.

Holy gently caress, Bryan has gotten so lazy with the drops. Allison talked about fearing ants crawling up her butt yesterday and he didn't play "There's something in my butt", and then later Adam talked about Whoopee Goldberg stammering on the view and he didn't play that clip of Whoopee stammering. He did shoehorn in "It's just a waste of my time" in a spot where it made no sense though, so I guess he earned his paycheck this week.

You're totally right, and you can even hear her getting frustrated when she wants to talk about news and Adam keeps interrupting for a lame joke or to retell an old story and she only gets to bring up one or two news pieces. The news is my favourite segment only because of Alison's sense of humour and the fact that someone other than Adam introducing topics is often the only source of new material the show gets. In defence of Brad Williams I think Adam made more jokes about Brad's height than he did, at the end he was turning almost everything into a height joke. I'll admit I've never seen Brad's standup act so maybe it's midget joke city but at least he is genuinely funny to back it up.

Yes Adam, all poor people are poor because they choose not to work, and they deserve to die or face bankruptcy if they have an illness.

I always defend Adam when people call him sexist, racist etc. but I can't defend the fact that he really really hates poor people. This thing where he thinks all poor people are lazy and stupid comes from his black and white, concrete thinking based solely on his experiences. His parents were poor and lazy, therefore all poor people are lazy. Adam wasn't bullied in school, therefore bullying doesn't exist. He has never known a person with peanut allergies, therefore nobody has peanut allergies. He also still hasn't realized that things like passionfruit iced tea, weird club sandwiches and fingerprinting coaches are primarily LA things and the rest of the world isn't like that, but LA is where he lives and therefore its the entire planet.
