Has he talked about this news on the podcast recently? I've been skipping some of them.

The one on one with William Shatner today was good though. Shatner turns it around and is basically interviewing Carolla a couple times, the dude is really quick. I had no idea he's now 83.

So here's something interesting: One of the people at Personal Audio, LLC had to go and make a fake account on Reddit and pose as a Carolla fan in order to attempt to astroturf some anti-lawsuit opinion. They really, really fear the possibility of this going forward.
If this is true then AHAHAHAHA. I hope these guys continue to backpedal right into a deep pit and get buried in it.

Looks like it's not for certain but the facts are adding up. lovely generic user name, Reddit user for 1 month, posting a lot about the details of the lawsuit. It's a little weird that there's old podcast and Loveline references in some of the posts, and bringing up Donny, but I'd imagine they would have done their homework on things like that.

There's not really, they just give each other some poo poo but it all seemed good natured. I was actually going to come here to post that this is the first one I've listened to in a week or so, and I thought she was really good on the show, I didn't pick up on any real tension out of her.

Its a very, very good coincidence for Alison that her newest episode just happens to be that very excellent Jo Koy interview. Anyone tuning in for the first time to see what the fuss is all about is gonna be impressed by that one.
She's #5 on the podcasts list on Itunes currently too, and she still has a spot in the rotating banners at the top. Good for her.

This is so weird. She always has been too smart and funny for just a newsgirl sidekick role, but what the hell? If even a little of the online outrage is to be taken seriously at all, he's going to lose a chunk of listeners over this. I haven't really listened consistently in a couple months anyway, so I'm going to unsubscribe on Itunes myself, maybe if enough people do it will drive home the message and make him realize what a weirdo he's being about this. One very on point and funny Itunes review currently says

Giving it a listen, it's at the very beginning of the latest show and goes into a lot of detail. It all makes a lot more sense then. Now the question is, why did he honestly think that he could avoid going into details on this, when they've worked together for 4 years now and most people love Alison and don't know about any of this stuff? Taking the high road or whatever just isn't going to work like that.

First, if he keeps this up, he's going to have more podcasts than Chris Hardwick and Kevin Smith.

Second, that sounds horribly unappealing but I'm sure it will find it's audience. The thing that's kept me listening for so long is he hasn't gone full political, yet. Doing a show with Dennis Miller seems like a big step down that road.

Thanks, that was really interesting, even though most of the car stuff is lost on me, it's fun to watch them gearhead out together.

He also showed up recently on Getting Doug with High:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-r8vLPr1E2E

I never watched the show before, but it's entertaining, although for any stoners out there he doesn't seem to get very high. In Doug Benson's words to Ari Shaffir, who was also on the show, "Do you want to get high and listen to Adam talk for an hour?"

Oh thanks, I hadn't seen that. Yeah I've been getting all the Road Hard update emails and I don't remember ever seeing it mentioned.

I think it looks really good. A lot of it is based on me really looking forward to seeing DAG, Jay Mohr and a bunch of other people from his podcast/circle of friends and acquaintances, but The Hammer was really good and has shown that Adam Carolla can play a decent Adam Carolla-type.

Adam, you retard.
Sorry to rehash this after everyone's moved on, but I just listened to it, and it really drives home the point how bad Adam is at a lot of aspects of being a boss/manager. If you watch the old Adam Carolla Project TV show he did, you get glimpses of that; things start falling apart on that show a few times and he's just kinda quietly standing there not able to step up and be as assertive as he needs to be with his people. Now this was a reality TV show where drama gets manufactured and edited, and he had control over the editing process, and yet you still get that sense. Imagine how much more like that he must be in real life. He comes across as someone who is way more quiet and weirdly sensitive than his public persona, and he probably expects employees to know what he's thinking rather than, you know, having conversations with them about his expectations.

I haven't listened in a while, but anyone been watching Catch a Contractor? They're going a bit overboard with the reality TV angle especially in the "sting house" segment, but Adam's been nailing it. The episode from a couple weeks ago when they're ripping into the guy who doesn't know how measurements work is one of the funniest things I've seen on TV in a long time.

I remember back when he left regular radio and started the podcast, his very first episode was him talking about how radio producer guys are like beavers, you put them up on top of a skyscraper and they'll try to build a dam because that's all they know how to do.

Jump forward 5+ years or whatever it's been, and the show's almost completely transformed into a morning zoo with a soundboard, the standard sidekick news girl and Pepsi ads :sigh:

Oh hey Dave Anthony is one of the guys who does the Dollop, I forgot he'd started that, I'm going to check it out.

Walking the Room is one of my all time favorites, if you want an older one to go back and listen to. Dave Anthony is a horrible person in the best possible ways, him and Greg Behrendt did something magical that can't ever be reproduced in the same way and shouldn't be, they ended it at a perfect time.

There are so many podcasts out there it's overwhelming. I started branching out a lot and doing more news and tech stuff. NPR has a bunch of stuff, Planet Money is always educational and really well produced and is a regular driving listen for me now.

Yeah, it's not really a surprise, even though I haven't listened in years, that he was headed toward something like this, but this officially marks the point where I write him off. Hope those chud dollars are worth losing all his funny friends he's alienating forever.

Not like I have a shortage of podcasts to listen to now that there's little commuting happening, but I just recently stumbled across Jim Jefferies' new-ish one "I Don't Know About That".

I've always liked Jim but haven't followed him since he was doing a podcast from another comedian and roommate's house (Jim and Eddie Talk poo poo), and was kinda wondering how his success had treated him. It's striking how much funnier and less lovely a person he seems to have turned out to be than Adam while being a similarly loquacious curmudgeon. The one or two times I remember him being on the show he was always great, and one of the guests who could out-talk Adam.

Seems like Dr. Drew has been hitting the antivax poo poo pretty hard. I hope Dr. Bruce AKA Dr. Spaz didn't turn out to be a huge piece of poo poo too.
Since I didn't have enough things to be angry about I went back and found an older Drew podcast episode where he talks to Dan Wilson (Debunk the Funk, a molecular biologist who covers a lot of antivax info) and Drew is doing the either spineless or calculated move of taking a "we still need to wait and see" stance. Lost count of the times he said something to the effect of "we need more data". Apparently Drew's wife is the producer of his show and kept chiming in throughout with really bad takes he would not push back on at all, other than one instance he disagreed with where she called getting the flu shot and covid booster at the same time stupid or something like that. Also the dipshits he had calling in at the end going on about natural immunity were not challenged in the slightest.

He's done this long enough I think it's calculated, he can push soft antivax talking points that draw the crazies but sit on the fence just enough to cry foul anytime someone calls him on it.
