Sweet Jesus, an actual show on Angels.

George is going to be insufferable. I'll probably end up killing myself by lunch. Here goes.

My C2C subscription runs out at the end of the month - has anyone listened to John B Wells' show? Is it worth the $5/month?

edit: apparently Bellgab hates it. gently caress it, I'll just listen to Clyde Lewis for free

Definitely. Plenty of people would toss him $50 if they were guaranteed that he'd do the show and keep it going a while.

You've got a point. I think there'd have to be some sort of guarantee that he wouldn't just up and quit, not that I think any of this will happen.

If nothing else I think he will be very careful to read the fine print this time.

Still think he should just not worry about the music. He's stubborn as gently caress though.

My guess is that it would be incredibly difficult to compete with Premiere/CC.

Not to mention that almost all of the affiliates are iHeart/Clearchannel owned and would be running their own programming before they'd run a competitor.

He doesn't 'own' the show any more, and CC basically pushed him out. Art has quite a bit of bad blood with Premiere over it. He's asked them to stop running his old shows, they've refused. They also reportedly threatened to blacklist guests appearing on Dark Matter from C2C.

It's highly debatable as to whether George actually likes Art or not, and it's pretty clear Art doesn't care for George much.

Granted, Art's a pretty stubborn guy and they had to continue running the show while he sorted out health and personal issues, but if one were to believe some of the things out there (some of which Art discussed on his first show back with Dark Matter, if you can find an MP3 of it) I'd probably be pretty bitter at ClearChannel/Premiere as well.

Among other issues:

quote:

On a show in September 2013, Noory was a guest on David John Oates's show,[59] Oates being a guest who was banned by Bell. Bell sued Oates and Robert Stephens, of Montana, for "seeking to malign, harass, cyberstalk, defame, injure and annoy" Bell by making false and defamatory statements, including calling him "crazy" and suggesting that Bell had been arrested on pornography-related charges. Bell's suit stated that several witnesses had reported hearing Oates accuse Bell of pedophilia. The court found that the accusations of pedophilia were both false and defamatory. As a result Oates was banned from Coast to Coast and had to publically apologize to Bell.[60]During the trial all claims against Art Bell were unequivocally denied by authorities. "There is nothing on Art Bell and never has been," said Nye County D.A. Robert Beckett.

quote:

What does Bell think of the man who replaced him on Coast, George Noory? He’s a lazy broadcaster, Bell says, indifferent to what he puts on the air. “This fellow, half the time, he doesn’t sound like he’s listening to his guest. He’ll come back and ask a question that had just been answered five minutes previously. Or he’ll inject a complete non sequitur. The guest will be talking about Bigfoot, and he’ll ask, ‘Well, does that have something to do with angels?’” Worse, “there’s a lot more politics in it, a lot more medical crap in it, a lot of New Age-y crap that I won’t touch. I prefer science.” Bell hopes competition will raise all boats. “It better—otherwise George’ll be a submarine.” Fans seem to agree: The first Google autocomplete hit on Noory’s name is “George Noory sucks.”

quote:

Hi All, I do not wish to string anybody along, stay tuned means just that. Until I was free in terms of non compete there was noreal way I could be on the air anywhere. Premiere has offered me a slot anytime I wish…..I do not wish. Now that I can indeed return if I wish there is the matter of a venue, I have some offers I am thinking about but have notdecided on anything as of yet. There was a time that I did not want to compete with Coast because I had no wish to destroywhat I built, Premiere has almost managed to change my mind about that. Doing a show means devoting your life to it, not just “phoning it in”, examples of that can be heard nightly. So a decision toproceed will have to be done right or not at all. This means the creative freedom is first along with the venue. While doing Coast at one point, instead of taking more money I opted for a restriction on the number of commercial minutes,a dumb move because as soon as I was gone they came back PLUS. I do what I do because I love it, not for the money. So, I just now have come to the point that I CAN do something, if I will or not depends on the above. I hope this helps someof you understand the process. I would rather do nothing than something half-assed.

So Jeff Rense has always been at least slightly anti-semitic (even if you take him at his 'i don't like zionists' stance) but this takes the loving cake. How long has be been running side by side WITH loving STORMFRONT RADIO? Also, how hosed up is this that David Duke is only the *second* worst host on the image?

edit: what the hell

edit2: I quit listening to Rense years ago because almost every show seemed to be entirely devoted to Zionism, but good lord, this is something else

Art has the paypal up and working for the $5/month subscription. Pay now, and you won't be charged until the second month of the show begins.

On a lighter note, here's THREE AND A HALF HOURS OF J.C.

I'm perfectly happy if he tries things he may not have tried on terrestrial radio, Redacted being one of them. This one didn't quite work out.

^^ no, not yet. if you want it, email keith because if he gets annoyed enough maybe he'll join this decade. Having to manually download everything is loving annoying. Same poo poo with Rense.com. I canceled my Rense subscription two months ago and I can still access the subscribers area. :effort:

Also, Clyde Lewis had his show cut by two hours so his flagship station could make room for Midnight in the Desert.

Five hours of Clyde Lewis is a loooong loving time. He also had to repeat portions of his show at the top of every hour to fill the time usually. I think his show will be better for it.

Guy was an absolute master bullshitter. His story was *too* good though, he never once really said 'I can't remember' about anything, which actually would make him more believable. Someone on Bellgab wormholed Art to remind him that he had mentioned in his book that he had worked at ITT and you can tell at about that point Art starts turning on him a little bit.

Rogan has been good thus far too based on the first hour.

Just join Bellgab if there's no IRC. It's usually pretty level headed and at least half the people there enjoy the show for what it is rather than taking everything as gospel.

It doesn't seem that bad to me, I just lurk but they hate Dave for sure. The live show threads seem reasonable.

In other news, I canceled my Rense.com (zionists, zionists, zionists) subscription three months ago and I still have access. Guess I'll raid that for all it's worth, which isn't much.

Never mind that the only reason DMDN even exists is because Art was going to try to do something similar to what he's doing now immediately after he quit Sirius, and realized he couldn't without getting sued into oblivion.
