I was going to do a high effort OP for this but the creators of the show are even more obsessive than I am so they've made this really, really easy for me. Like look at this. I had high hopes Eltingville and wish it had been picked up, but I also liked the comics on which it was based on.Delaio posted:In one of the interviews posted in the last thread I saw the words "10 episode season". Which is kind of disappointing. Even with the intro episode being an hour and counting the Halloween episode, it's still shorter than the other seasons. That's the only place I've seen info though, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. From what I remember it might be more dire than this because the hour long episode might count as 2 episodes and the Halloween episode is one of the ten episodes. It's gonna be a horribly short season  BUT from what I understand they already are working on the next one so maybe we won't have to wait as...ah I couldn't even finish typing that because of how inherently untrue what I was about to type was.

So apparently they're doing screenings of season finale followed by the premier on the big screen (up to five before it airs) in select cities. People taht go will get a lmited edition print and a chance to win actual film cells. It's coming no where near me, and I hate all of you that are going to be able to go to this.

In general that bump helped because it makes it clear how much time has passed. Like when it comes back not much indicates how much time has passed, but once you realize that an entire episode happened in the commercial break, it kind of gives a better idea of the pace at which the episode is going.

I wasn't saying that as a detrminment to Venture Brothers, I was just further putting how long this season took in some context. Also, Adventure Time's animation really isn't simpler than Venture Brothers. It's less cinematic, but that doesn't honestly make it take THAT much less time.

It's weird to me that people don't like Saint Cloud. He's a great villain for the series because of how petty and shortsighted he is and how he tries to gain status from attaining the things that ruined Docs life and that he doesn't even find interesting anymore. I'm about to rewatch the entire series and I started with the Pilot and while I like the pilot it contains so many elements I'm glad they moved away from. I really dislike the way Brock fits in with the family in the pilot and early on in general. In the pilot they have this weird thing where it's clear Doc has a thing for Brock and Brock could care less and that just didn't work. Also Brock's complete not giving a poo poo aobut he boys and Doc was also just kind of bad. It was much b etter when they made him give a poo poo but also had hm feel contempt. It made hm a much better character. It's odd in the pilot that Doc is competent but just bitter and full of hate. It's good they moved him away from completely hating the boys and more towards apathy and self centeredness. I'm also glad they decided to not make Dr. Girlfriend a man (which she is in the pilot) and that they moved away from Monarch not understanding how Butterflies work. It's much funnier to have him embrace his stupid persona rather than have the implication that he chose it without understanding it. The latter is good for on episode of jokes while the latter is always funny. It's also funny that in the pilot White is a scientist that became an albino through a failed experiment.

I will say my favorite joke in the pilot is how Doc shows a device that all it does is melt a model city and he doesn't understand how people could think it's a weapons, yet it's never explained what he thinks it is actually supposed to be used for.
