Adding color to the mandala. Sorry about the blurry pic. It is metallic blue. I also have metallic purple and green. Just not sure which should be the outer vs. inner colors.

Day two of inktober. R.I.P. Tom Petty. Ballpoint and copics. FYI alchohol based markers will make ballpoint ink bleed if you don't wait long enough for it to dry. Woops.

Two more for inktober. Almost caught up. Adding a background via ink wash. This was not done in photoshop. It's "denril" - which is translucent and lots of fun to draw on. I can't explain it other than to say it handles ink like nothing else. Still getting used to the surface qualities. Ink takes MUCH longer to dry out because the surface isn't very porous at all but rather slick / plastic. Starting another mural across the street from the old one. This one is at a brewery called Amber Ox. Only have a very small window to finish this one however. Had to put the final touches on hold for the last one in order to have the time to finish this one before they open. Here is the other one ATM. The arm / elbow still needs muscle tone and the bracelet needs to be fixed. Upper right corner of mandala is off a bit too. Update: Also - though unrelated. Does anyone have any strong feelings of the new line of Cintiqs (mobile studio) vs. the Cintiq companion? Lastly. does anyone know of any wacom Black Friday sales for er.... the above mentioned Cintiq models? sigma 6 fucked around with this message at 04:10 on Nov 23, 2017 |

Yeah. That's pretty much what I saw too. Tried to put laquer over my mural and it dissolved the marker I used smearing everything. How does that happen? Water based vs. Oil based markers? Dammit.

Chef Bourgeoisie: Emphasize the top of the eyes over the bottom. Light is typically from above so the shadow is under the upper lid more than the bottom.

silicone thrills posted:I wish I could give tips but i've been doing watercolors since I was in 5th grade and never officially learned alot beyond that. Other than the salt trick. The salt trick is fun. These are getting much better. I was going to say to use less empty space / white paper but with this last one there is hardly any white. Much better! You can't just paint white watercolor over darker watercolor so I know it's tricky to know what areas to leave empty for highlights, reflections etc. Good news is that getting great at watercolor makes you a better acrylic painter and I would say a better painter overall.
