I'm not going to lie. I have thought about replacing my iPad 3 with the next new one just because of the 30-pin connector. I am an idiot.

I did this. My girlfriend wanted an iPad anyways so I gave her my 3 and picked up the 4. It is quite a bit faster than the 3rd gen and its nice having everything use the same connector again.

Probably not the smartest thing though.

I already have a 4, but I couldn't resist...I went to Target and bought an Air.

BTW if you're looking for a 16gb, Target has them for 479.99 and if you use your Target credit/debit card (or sign up for one), you get an additional 5% off basically paying for taxes. $480.53 out the door in Wisconsin.

Making/Receiving calls on my iPad is not working. I get a "Call using iPhone failed" message when making a call, and absolutely nothing appears when receiving a call. Both were just updated to iOS 8 and are on the same network.

iPad Air 2 is an awesome upgrade for anyone who skipped the first Air. I skipped it because I wasn't going to shell out another $699 for the same old 1GB RAM. Looks like that paid off. $100 less than last year, too.

iPad mini fan got the finger this year though. A8 supplies must be constrained as hell (plus Apple is cheap).

Was it actually confirmed it has 2GB of ram? I don't see anything showing that.

That has been the weirdest release. No actual release date, no pre-order times, no mention of other stores. I guess the supply is really limited.

Yeah, tablets aren't a big thing anymore with the size of phones and all.

Has anyone here upgraded form the original iPad Air to the Air 2? Was it worth it in your opinion?

One of my main reasons for considering upgrading is because I'm basically out of space on my 16GB air, I'm also tired of pages loading while scrolling (these forums are the main culprit).

Are most of the issues with the iPad Air ironed out with the increased RAM/CPU performance of the Air 2? Tab reloads, lovely page scrolling issues, etc.?

My iPad Air 2 constantly tells me i have several apps to update that have been waiting for several days, and if I want to use cellular data to update....on a wifi only iPad. Is there a fix for this other than starting fresh?

Does anyone else own an Asus RT-N66U, and have random WiFi connection issues? The devices will show that I'm connected to WiFi, but when browsing the internet, I just get a 1/4 status bar, then a connection error message. Sometimes toggling the WiFi helps, sometimes now. My devices have been doing this since I got this router about a year ago, and its ONLY my Apple products. Even the MacBook Air I just got seems to stutter on occasion.

Its really frustrating, as everything else works fine, and I don't want to dump another $180 on a Netgear R7000 or something.

I have the RT-AC66U which I think is pretty similar. Have you tried factory resetting it? That's helped for me in the past. I also switched to the Auswrt-Merlin firmware maybe 6 months ago and it seems to have been performing better since then.

I haven't factory reset it yet, but I have power cycles it a couple times with no difference. Maybe I'll try a different firmware.

I've barely used my MacBook Air since getting my iPad Air 2. Pretty much the only time I need to pull it out anymore is to torrent something or use Photoshop. My wife mostly uses it for schoolwork now. If I needed to type extensively on my iPad, I'd probably get a Magic Keyboard because I like the Smart Case too much to replace it with some bulky Logitech job.

The Logitech Type + is a fantastic keyboard case for the Air2. I love it, and its VERY easy to remove the iPad when you just want to chill on the couch. I got an open box one for $20 on eBay about a month back, best $20 spent.
