I've read some of Straub's other stuff, but I'd never heard of this. I'm enjoying it a lot. Speaking of Mercy, my current pet theory is that she is that french skeleton that Wadsworth sees, as I am fairly sure that only started happening after he named her, here. She was also clinging to him afterwards. I assume she is still clinging to him since they were together before he went into the Skull and Shovel group, though we haven't seen her since.
