This, absolutely. Don't Make Me Think touches on this. It can be hard to strike a balance between usability and being unique, but taking away the top navigation is veering too far towards confusing. If you break a convention, make sure you're actually improving upon it. Removing something people need and expect isn't doing that.

sim posted:Okay I gave in to your sound advice and added a header: Looks great. One really nitpicky thing is that the left padding on the logo bothers me a bit, since it means it doesn't align with the title. Other than that I think it's perfect.
