Also, I found out round trip bus fare in october is only $30 (and a lifetime stuck on a bus). That's kind of tempting.

Well gently caress me, looks like the girlfriend and I are doing the Hasbro shuffle again this year... Transformers meets Steel Panther. Amazing.

Good news: we're finally getting an Evasion Mode Optimus that's actually movie-accurate. Bad news: it'll be a Toys R Us Japan exclusive, so expect to pay $100 or more. (Still kind of worth it, honestly.)

This is awesome but I've spent a good deal of money on stupid toys but there's no way in hell this thing is ever worth dropping close to a $100 for.

Cheetimus is doing the Lord's work with these screen-accurate AoE Drift customs. Shame about the price.

On a related note: good god in heaven, how did HasTak gently caress up Drift's colors so horribly? Is this the "every character needs a signature color" philosophy rearing its ugly head again? Drift is blue because of Stealth Bumblebee, and Grimlock is gold(ish) because reasons?

Yeargh.

I might have to purchase that, but I still hate how horrible the wing is on the mold. So wrong.

Xenomrph posted:

Yeah, the actual toy isn't quite as "deep midnight blue" as the real car, but that's also real hard for mass-produced plastic to replicate seeing as how the "real" Drift has a professional paint job using expensive real car paint.
The toy does a more than admirable job of replicating it, even if it's not 100% spot-on. If anything, the biggest "error" on the toy is the rims aren't highlighted with the light blue, but whatevs. Even the big spoiler on the car is actually accurate for the most part, it just looks goofy because it doesn't have the "gap" in the middle. I think one of the other Drift toys actually gets the gap right.

The issue is the toy doesn't seem to get even close to the dark rear end blue of the actual car, and the wing of the Veyron looks massive because there's no gap. Either way I'll be picking it up when it hits my local Target. Shouldn't that be soon?

So I picked up Drift via Amazon as suggested by Xenomrph and I'm really digging him. Transformation is quick and fun and he just looks drat good. I hate the yellow of his swords though and I don't get why the back part (airbrake and back bumper) are black plastic instead of the blue like the rest of the car. Oh, and why the hell they gave him silver paint in the rims. That's pretty strange. Overall drat pleased and I can't wait for that pack to get the better deco of him.

This film kicked so much rear end, holy poo poo. Prime's bloodlust owns, Lockdown is awesome, the rest of the bots are pretty sweet. It sucked that the Dinobots didn't talk or have any real reason to be around, but no one needs a reason for 20 story robotic dinosaurs to gently caress poo poo up. And at the end when Optimus flies away to basically seek out his God and murder him, :black101: as gently caress. I'm surprised the film wasn't released with an accompanying metal album.
