A mate of mine is in Taiwan at the minute, and has been for a while. Said there were 10 deep stacks of these for around $150 on Soundwave. I got a Universe Beachcomber today. He's tiny.

Missed out on this on ebay last week, and I'm curious as to who or what it is. Was listed as 'G1 Sentinel'but I can't find anything under that name. Any ideas?

Well Holy poo poo my mate unexpectedly brought me back MP Soundwave from Taiwan. When I said how much do you want - "Nothing, it's a gift". My night has been completely made, and the man will not pay for a drink in my presence for a long time to come. gently caress yes. God bless you rich game designer friends who like jetsetting.

WendigoJohnson posted:If we got a leader sized tank transformer it would be probably the largest tank transformer that ever existed post G2. Outside of Bludgeon the only other large tank transformer was Armada Megatron. I have an Armada Megatron, with all it's missiles and the little yellow dude too at my Mum's house. He's basically a crap Scorponok though. Plus two Armada Optimuse Primes here, I've no idea where the trailer that formed him into Super Optimus went though. God bless freebies from work when they had the license for Armada watches & clocks and I didn't give a gently caress back then. Armada Megatrons go for what, £15 tops these days?

The_Doctor posted:Virtually anything in the Generations line from the last year. They've only been available from specialist shops so far, at inflated prices. I've only got Springer/Blitzwing/Sandstorm because I travel to the US on a semi-regular basis. Well that's not really true, I paid through the nose same time I got Metroplex about 2 months back for Sandstorm but he's currently £20 from Kapow. Wish I'dve waited. Blitzwing was £33, don't have Springer.

OK fair enough it does but gently caress TRU and Forbidden Planet that have next to nothing that I want. It's eBay or Kapow. I'll give you a shout though, I'm in on Secret Santa. poo poo. I had that comic as a kid with the Optimus Santa.

Best: Hard choice between G1 Grimlock and RTS Lugnut. Grimlock was the second TF I bought back when I started collecting about 18 months ago, once I found a decent one on ebay, and I still think it's a cool transformation/bit of engineering for being ~30 yrs old. Plus, childhood memories and justification - how do you argue with the enthusiasm that goes with "it's an awesome looking robot that turns into a loving T-Rex? His characterization in the US comics/cartoon can kiss my arse though. Lugnut I bought on recommendation from this thread having not heard of him before. First CHUG I got, and holy poo poo this is what they can do with engineering these days? Magic all round. (This opinion may change as I have MP Smokescreen on pre-order, and MP Soundwave to pick up from a friends this week) Worst: Generations Blitzwing. You all know why.

I hardly know anything about Binaltech but Shockblast is a repaint/remold of the Jazz everyone raves about? I guess mine's hosed then because I got him in a joblot and have never been able to transform him into car mode, despite studying the instructions. His back end/legs simply won't fold in to complete the car and as someone else mentions, his bonnet pops the gently caress off. Hmmm. Also I thought they still made new Binaltechs? Kapow are doing Pre-orders on Scoria, but it's £135. gently caress that. Warbotron, ie awesome Bruticus is coming up soon but that's gonna be $88 for the limbs then $120+ body. BUHH

# ¿ Nov 16, 2013 01:18 |

UK Warbotron prices went up. £65 per Limb, £90 for the Not Onslaught. About usual for 3rd Party I suppose, bit rich for my blood.

Well that list should just have asked 'we know you all want want Star Saber (I don't, because who the gently caress is Star Saber?) which Optimus do you want?'. I have 2 Armada Optimuses and I didn't think they were that good anyway.

poo poo Scoria looks ace. Possibly not £135 ace but we'll see. In other news that you all knew, MP Soundwave, tiny Megatron gun and cassettes are the loving greatest thing ever.

Skids, with the comic version is sold out UK wise, I can get it off ebay but gently caress paying £20+, I wanted it as a Xmas present off the in-laws. MP Smokescreen is released 14th December anyways, which means I should get it afore Christmas.

Of course, in some countries, you'll then be playing the customs fees roulette. Harr, I'm not doing that, I'd rather go through Kapow where my purchase is guaranteed. Unless Sentinel Red tells me they're doing different. I know I can get MP's through eBay and play, as you say, custom/postage roulette.

Which TRU do UK people go to? I can get a bus across to the Brent Cross one but it's a pain in the arse and I've no idea what they carry. The last TRU I went to at Whiteleys in West London didn't have poo poo but ROTF crap but that was back in February. I didn't know Orbital carried toys as someone was saying. Forbidden Planet only has new Beast hunters stuff.

gently caress it, I went for the £22 Red Alert with free international shipping. It'll go right nice with my G1 re-issue. It remains to be seen how much I get hosed on customs/Post Office delivery, I just got screwed for £13 off of £31's worth of Threadless T-shirts over Christmas.

I can't even remember who Nightbeat is from the comics, and the Armada Starscream mold was pretty crap to begin with. Was Nightbeat in the Dreadwing/Micromasters era or G2? oh yeah edit: The MP Wheeljack I've ordered off Kapow said today it comes with a 'Hypno exclusive'

On a completely different tip, because I haven't caught up with MTMTE yet or Dark Cybertron, I got my Metroplex down from the top shelf tonight to reposition his arms from going 'heeey! it's a fugazi!' to 'the english two fingers up go gently caress yourself' and hitting his speak/light up button, he's gone from 2 transform noises to about 7 phrases + them. Bonus. The KO MP Red Alert I bought got posted about 8 hours after I bought it on Tuesday so we'll see whats what in a week or so I reckon.

Would anyone happen to have a complete G1 Wheeljack? Specifically I'm after the dimensions of the spoiler parts/wings as I don't think it'd be too hard to kitbash them together from all the model car parts I have lying around, rather than pay exorbitant prices on ebay for what's essentially 5 pence worth of plastic. The only thing I could find online was a similar messageboard request that got sorted on PMs, which is no use to anyone else. Unless I'm looking in the wrong places. Any help would be appreciated.
|
# ¿ Jan 19, 2014 10:44 |

Both. The wings I still need dimensions for, I managed to track down technical drawings of the Lancia from a kit car that's more or less the same size, so I can take it from there for the spoilers. Don't know if you could scan them or something and post W x H. I'll assume they're ~1.5mm thick. Cheers.

I'll find this out seeing as I just got Knockoff MP Red Alert Countach, and have MP Smokescreen once I transform him. ^^We bought the knockoffs at the same time didn't we. Red Alert looks good but I'll transform him and find out his flaws if any tomorrow, I read up on the differences yesterday, Sideswipe wise. Still for £22 & free P&P I'm not going to complain. Yeah mines got the same problems except for the arm. A tab broke off from under the side windows the first time I transformed him, and the top of his head doesn't close down all the way. his shoulder cannon is loose too, but I can live with all these things for £22 and the fact he looks great in robot mode.

Kapow were saying they're going to get 'some' in of that Optimus but leave AoE toys to a minimum seeing as they got burned hard on ROTF/DotM toys not selling for poo poo, and who can blame them. Also, quoting my own post: "A friend was at UK ToyFair last week and she said the (what I assume to be) Grimlock toy is enormous, and 'his eyes light up blue when the truck guy sits on him, but red if the baddies are sat on him'. Take that as you will because she's not exactly a TF expert bless her, but gives me hope for the Dinobots. I'm not touching this (that Optimus toy above) though. She said Hasbro were making a big thing about it but she didn't have much time there. I'll try and quiz her a bit more next time I see her.

Bleh I wish I'd fired in just after Christmas on Ebay, Generations Skids on his own is £30+ P&P now, he was ~£20 before. Unless I buy the entire case for £75, and I've zero interest in Waspinator, Goldfire & Dreadwing. I may hit up Orbital on Saturday though on The Doctor's recommendation. I know John Lewis on Oxford St have gently caress all but Beast Hunters.

Yeah those AoE 1 step things aside from Grimlock are loving terrible. I find it weird you could get Cosmos/Swerve over here in the UK, and Skids for a bit before Christmas yet no-one's having any luck in the States. I'm gonna go look round London tomorrow for them, Skids I really want. If I can get a Cosmos/Swerve pack I'm up for selling it on if it's that bad to get hold of without charging silly prices.
