BTW, I bought the castle upgrade for my town, and it... didn't cover part of it with walls. It also built random sections of wall at three different places on the map. How do I fix this?

I bought the STONE castle part. None of this flammable wood junk for me. Anyways the stuff along the side of the base that has the rocks did not build, there's a big hole in the side of my base that anyone could launch trebuchet stones and arrows through.

Wow, trebuchets are now only good for starting fires. Battering rams are where it's at-- they have a shitload of HP and they absolutely  gates, especially the crappy ones palisades have.Also, if you can afford it, I think knights are a good investment. They don't have as good resists as swordsmen but on the other hand they can heal themselves and nearby units and they have better formations, so they make very good meat shields. Only the foot knights though.
