Styles Bitchley posted:I don't get why the Veloster gets a fast dual clutch but a G70 with the Stinger 3.3T engine has a lovely slow transmission. DCT probably can't handle the torque of bigger engines and they don't want to throw money at development of a bigger one.

This is kind of scary, because they are in fact Lapiz Blue and Nitrous Blue.

You've all made some good and interesting points, first stop will be test drives. Now as luck would have it I had to have surgery on my toe recently so that's going to delay things a bit.Rhyno posted:The choice is clear. Goddammit.

For the longest time, I thought the reason American cars had such low specific outputs was that you had third-world quality gas what with your low octane ratings.

190hp out of an 8.2L engine is also top tier stupid. My point was I was stupid and didn't know the difference between different octane ratings.

Speaking of, anyone know of an adapter for getting rid of intake direct injection carbon buildup on a 2.0 EcoBoost will fit a 1.6? I'm assuming no, but all the ones I can find are for 2/2.3/3.5 so my options seem kinda limited.

That's the kind of adapter that I mean, except for the 1.6. Or rather, since I've failed to find one for the 1.6 I wonder if one of the other fits.

Still trips me up that it's a five-door in the US.

Was about to say, I'd be a lot more worried about a DSG out of warranty than a clutch.
