Ford Focus ST

Hey there, don't forget about the Focus' little brother:

Fiesta ST

Weighing in at a paltry 2700lbs (500lbs lighter than big brother), the Fiesta ST is powered by the same 1.6L, 197 HP, 214 ft. lbs engine in the base model Fusion. The Fiesta ST can also be had starting at $22,195.

If Mazda decides to build a next gen. Speed3, it will be at least two years before they hit the lots. So, I wouldn't let that be a deciding factor.

I loving love that car. The turbo lag is pretty significant though.

That's why people are telling you to tune it. The lag will still be there, it will just feel like you're being punched in the chest when it spools, which makes it feel worthwhile. The car is pretty stout though, I wouldn't worry about engine failures on them, especially with an accessport.

Stalling out a dozen or so times isn't going to cause any kind of damage to a car. I always stress that to people when I teach them to drive a stick shift. Just keep the rpms below 3000 or so and you'll be fine.
