Having watched some of the bigger documentaries on LARP, it seems like something I'd like to try at least once. That being said it feels harder to get into than even the typical ubernerd hobbies. Where do the larpers hang out? Surely they must have some internet forums somewhere...but the only pages I find googling are relics on Angelfire with three active members. How would you recommend a newbie try out the hobby? I'd really prefer to go to a large event to get the most robust experience I can. How terrible are the people at these events?
