I watched the original Madoka series way back when it came out but never got around to the movies. I just watched Rebellion today.  Feels like I've watched End of Eva again.

i was so disappointed with that movie lol its like an hour of nothing happening and then theres a giant plot dump right at the end. at least it was pretty to look at.

I hate Nagisa too and still thought the movie was damned good as a continuation of the series. Obviously it assumes you know way too much about the show to be considered a good movie by itself.

Rebellion isn't a super good movie if you don't know/remember a lot about what happened previously, but it is gorgeous.

i mean don't get me wrong i didn't hate it, i thought the general concept was good and it had lots of kyoko and sayaka interaction which i am 100% for, i just think the pacing was really poor for a two hour movie.

Just like the series, it is helped by watching it a second time and by being fairly familiar with western allegory. I mean, at one point the literal owls come home to roost and how can you not love that?

Homuras Revenge was funny, wherein she pulls Madoka and Kyubey back in time and we see a really messed up timeline play out. Other than mangas, there just isn't much, but the handful of fan games are fantastic.

grief syndrome is a very good fan game in particular and has an ending where kyouko and sayaka get married the only other fan game i've played, though, was a bit of homura combat, which is pretty much EDF but you play as Homura and it's pretty bad
