Just found and searched through this thread and I'm kinda surprised no one has mentioned The Guest yet. It's not totally in this genre but it definitely deserves mention here. The trailer doesn't really convey the feel of the movie and kinda spoils a bunch of fun twists. It's best to go in blind if you ask me but if the poster and my recommendation aren't selling you it feels very heavily influenced by Drive, Terminator 2, and early John Carpenter flicks Has a  soundtrack too!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdZFbvOYNMY

I really loved The Guest. It starts out as a sort of family drama but keeps ramping up until it's this weird thriller/horror thing. It's actually got the same actress from It Follows, Maika Monroe. Also You're Next is a pretty sweet horror movie from the same writer director team of The Guest.
