At the moment I'm on the fence about this show. I liked the episode a lot, but watching it gave me the feeling that I should go straight to the manga and come back when I'm finished. Either way, the story is a breath of fresh air. It doesn't romanticize the rural life the way a lot of writers do, but the love Arakawa must have for Hokkaido really shines through.
