 Ian Flynn actually has an SA account(ElPottoGrande) and spoke a lot about how ridiculous the comics were for a long time(and why), as well as SEGA's relationship with the comics and what he has to go through to write it in CyberShell's Sonic LP Thread: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2888872&userid=80331
