Contrary to the (now ancient) OPs you can buy used Dell servers stupid cheap on ebay these days. If I have a rack sitting in the back room, is there any reason I should spend money on a c6100 or r710 just to gently caress around with? Seems like you can get a decent amount of cores plus a sizable amount of memory for <$300
