gently caress. Yes.

All-time favorite car right there. Some day I will have one in my garage. I will be following this thread very closely.

Interestingly enough, I may be coming across a similar deal, only on a full series 1 with covered headlights. Apparently this area that the work is being performed there must have been a one-upmanship contest with these cars or something.

More on that when I return at the start of next month.

Dude, loving unfair. You can't hoard all of the reasonably priced, non-rustbucket E-types. Share the love.

I'm inclined to agree with VikingSkull. Do whatever the gently caress makes you happy.

Personally, I would leave it a little scruffy-looking, get the mechanicals sorted out (including reliability mods like the aforementioned fuel pump), and drive the poo poo out of it. I don't see the point in having a pristine trailer-queen of a car if you are afraid to drive it for fear of hurting it's value by getting a rock chip or a parking lot ding. It was made to be driven, not judged.

The JCNA guide I read labeled them as "series 1.25" since the only thing distinguishing them from a series 1 is the headlights. It said that, while not as valuable as a series 1, they are more desirable than a series 1.5 or series 2.
