My biggest annoyance is that Nocturne isn't a standalone mini series like I was expecting, so the end is pretty much just setup for season two. Also...Isn't Maria considered to be Alucard's love interest at the end of SOTN? If so....wonder how that will translate to the show since he showed up early when she's still a teenager.

I have a Bloodstained question if anyone knows: can you get the bad endings on New Game +? I bee-lined to Gebel but killing him outright doesn't trigger the Just a Flicker trophy. I'm wondering if I'm missing something or if it needs to be a clean game save file to trigger it.

I can't answer that as I got it playing the first time because I didn't know what I was supposed to do to not get the bad ending. The new castlevania show was alright, but I'd be lying if it wasn't cool when Richter went super saiyan and they did his rearranged theme. I'm also seeing the outlines of the grand spectacle finale Grand Cross being a tag team move with him and Anette using her metalbending to make a bunch of crosses like she did against her former slavemaster, somehow doing power of love and friendship magic with him to make a big cool boom, and I'm gonna tune in for that no matter how up or down the episodes are leading up to it.

Within the terms of the Castlevania animated universe Dracula is off the table for the moment. The last we saw him he'd come back to life with his wife and decided to gently caress off from all that. So they're using other famous vampires to fill the same basic role. So Ruthven was presumably the replacement Dracula for Juste like how Bathory is for Richter. (Which is actually something Castlevania Bloodlines did first.) Unless they state otherwise there's no real reason to assume that any Belmont since Trevor has actually fought Dracula in the animated canon. This is kind of emphasized by Annette going "who's Dracula?" at the end. What this means for a potential SotN is a big question since the first series kind of touched on a lot of SotN's stuff with Alucard anyway. Looks like Bloodstained Curse of the Moon-alike is now an official part of the Classicvania genre with Darkest Abyss. It even has a free demo right now during the Steam Next Fest.
