A friend moved to next to a major thoroughfare. She basically can't study at home due to the noise. She listened to my Shure SE215's and was extremely impressed by the sound isolation. Will a $20 pair of IEM's from Monoprice or with good-fitting tips (e.g. foam or triple flanges) have comparable sound isolation? She's willing to pay more than that, but only if there's a meaningful improvement in sound isolation.
