Every single year the Ivy League takes a break from fucking up the world through its various alumni to fuck up everyone's bracket instead.
That Veneta show is no joke, well overdue for the vault treatment. Everything they learned during the Europe Tour went into those sets, and it shows. Nearly every version is a potential best ever, including of course the soul-searing Dark Star.

The best Dead group out there, or at least the best group playing all Dead songs, would be Joe Russo's Almost Dead: http://archive.org/details/jrad2013-01-26.mk5.flac16

Of course, that group can only ever get together for one or two shows a year, max. But I'm pretty confident they'll be great shows every time out.

For Dead-related weirdness you can also try Grayfolded, John Oswald's Plunderphonics take on 30+ years of Dark Star.

Joe Russo's Almost Dead continues to put on top-notch shows; now word that they'll be doing 12/30 and /31 with Phil Lesh himself at the Cap in Port Chester. Been a long time since Phil did NYE on the East Coast.
