God drat google drive.

Got some models back from my mate who paints for me, super chuffed.

Domaru's probably going to be run as Oyama, with a cheap Butai friend.

How much team work is there? Genuinely curious, I've played a tiny amount of team 40k games and they were just bloodbaths with no concern for the teammate, really.

Wood glue sounds fine, could hammer in some tiny nails if you can't be bothered to wait for it to go off. Or this stuff works immediately.

Pidgin Englishman posted:

Quite a lot. We hadn't built our lists together, but we could cover each other's weaknesses reasonably well. The mission was also aimed at working together with our objectives being different to the other team's.

Without missions it wouldn't really mean much, I think you'd find quite a lot of teamwork with its missions though. Particularly if you lost built together.

It was good fun, and I highly recommend giving it a shot.

That does sound rad, I've gotta get more into the FLGS side of things. Playing with mates infrequently isn't really doing it for me.

Wow, that would be cool to take part in for sure.

And I more meant that I just play with my small group of mates, haven't branched out into the local scene, which seems friendly from the local facebook groups.

Probably paired up with some Guilang FO's/AHD, as they've been super dang useful in every game.

Quick rules question I couldn't work out how to find on the wiki, if my LT is a camouflaged marker on the board, I'm not in in loss of lieutenant am I?

Relatedly, if I took a Tiger soldier, would I be in loss of lieutenant until they arrived on the board?

Went to FLGS who were doing their infinity night, organised a 200pt 'learning game'. Got to learn that when you don't watch your backline you get murdered. When your opponent hasn't got a counter to Smoke + MSV lv2 visors feels pretty loving good though.

Bottom half mine, lost Doctor turn one to light flame throwers on the CA CC monster, then pinned him with all the mines.

Yep, I'll be there with my bright yellow CA. It's the main tourney for the year, and the only sattelite tourney in Aus. There'll be about 60 people in the main 5 round event and they're also running a 3 round narrative event in the evening with similair numbers. Really solid prize support, too.

Also going to be mid 30s and in a giant shed with no A/C :madmax:

Yeah nah gently caress that. Too many summer 40k tourneys in old halls with lovely fans to do that again.

So what's the reasoning behind KHD's having Cybermask as a thing? And what's the benefit to the Impersonation state vs, say, TO Camo?

Unrelatedly list writing sucks, and I'm not great at it, and I probably find it the most frustrating part of the game.

Local tourney runner seemed pretty despising of it, so I don't?

It seems like a link team with a lot of specialists would be the quick way, though the team would rapidly lose effectiveness since you'd be dropping the specialists. Just all the mines and forward deployed peeps on the enemy models to deny them.

Needs more guided weapons to take advantage of unconscious Kuang Shi.

Genghis Cohen posted:

An excellent looking table man! I love seeing peoples' custom terrain, definitely a lot of advantages to having a personally unique set-up with so much straight-as-per-instructions MDF stuff around.

Also, your sort of designs avoid the so-called 'castle effect'. After hearing of this, I can't stop seeing it. It's how the little individual buildings with low walls all around the roofs create little fortresses - models can lie prone, or fall unconscious, and be essentially untouchable without a great expenditure of orders and/or speculative fire. It really strikes me how many games come down to this sort of thing.

I always figured that was by design of the game, most of the Corvus Belli starter sets have buildings with their little walls.

I just want the cruise chain rifle missile to deliver an actual missile sometimes.

Genghis Cohen posted:

I know, but I figured that was just a bit unthinking on their part. It really does have the potential to turn some games into just camping and shooting at each other rather than games of manoeuvre. That isn’t to say it makes tactics any simpler or doesn’t reward skill, it just imposes a different and more static shape.

It's a good point, and I don't disagree. From the games I've played, it's basically always a given that anyone above ground level is going to be in cover and the ubiquity of he modifier sure gets dull.

Cassa
Jan 29, 2009
Yeah ignore the tournament setup stuff. Pick a mission, write your one list, setup table, draw classifieds and roll for first. If you're playing an ITS mission you're probably going to have one of most of the specialists.

Cassa

Yeah, if you crit with a T2 weapon you automatically deduct two points from the wound/str value.

Thankfully there aren't any T2 CC weapons.

Cassa
Jan 29, 2009
I mean monofillament CC weapons and Mines are a thing too. YJ have a CC25 fellow with MA lvl 5 so critting on 15s with a damage 12 ARM roll vs going straight to dead.
