Why's Oogie using an army of skeletons, ghosts, and a living shadow? I thought he was all about bugs (and deadly casinos, but mostly bugs)?

I bought this game on a whim when I was in high school. I bought it with birthday money because there simply wasn't anything else to buy but I wanted to buy SOMETHING. I played through to the first boss fight and never picked it up again. That being said, I'm really looking forward to the Let's Play, because years later I am wondering what I missed out on.

My experience with NMC starts and ends with the Kingdom Hearts games, so my patience for that main theme hasn't dried up just yet. Hell that jaunty Parisian street remix they use as the town BGM is actually really nice. I can see the non-vocal tracks being atmospheric and well made in general.

I could see the whole "one song soundtrack" thing working if it was something like Warioland where it changes so much, but this is really annoying. Anyway, nice video. I'm glad they kept my favorite part of the movie, the Christmas equation. I always thought it was cute how hard he tried to understand Christmas.

They could have at least used the instrumental version of the song as battle music. That'd still be repetitive, but not as much as repeating the vocals for every fight.

This LP makes my inner child extremely happy. There was a year where I ended up watching Nightmare Before Christmas every single day (and wore out two copies of the VHS). I had no clue that there was a PS2 game made, until I found a copy for sale and bought it to play while recovering from knee surgery.

I remember wanting this game when I was younger, then totally forgetting that it even existed until I saw this LP. Which is surprising, just because of how inherently crazy the idea of a Capcom-developed Nightmare Before Christmas action game is. For some reason I do remember seeing some NBC stuff in a general figurine/doll shop my sister dragged us into during a vacation into Japan, including a mug depicting Sally giving Jack the Santa suit with a speech bubble reading "I made this clothes for you".

Well, Well, Well, what have we here? A Void Burger thread, huh? Oh, I’m really thrilled. So you’re the one everybody’s talkin’ about, ha, ha. You’re Jokin’, you’re jokin’ I can’t believe my eyes You’re jokin’ me, you gotta be Void Burger can’t be alive This must be archived, it’s a sound-a-like I don’t know which is worse I might just post a song rewrite now If I don’t die laughing first When Missus Oogie Boigah says there's entertainment close at hand you better pay attention now 'Cause I'm a Boigah fan And if you aren't thread favin' There's something very wrong 'Cause this may be the last time now You see a Boigha song. WoW~ x2 (WoW~) x2 I'm a Oogie Boigah fan! Well If I'm feelin' bored And there's nothing much to do I might just lay around And kick back a few And don't you know one thing That would make it work so nice? A timely update to add a bit of spice (refrain) Complete this now Or you will face the dire consequences This song is arguably the best So please, come to your senses You're jokin', you're jokin' I can't believe my ears They got Ken Page to sing all this? I'm drowning in my tears This is funny, I'm laughing You two really are too much And with your permission I'd like to do my stuff. What are you going to do? Finish this the best I can. Oh the sound of trivia To me is music in the air 'Cause I'm a nerdy NMBC fan Oh lord, don't be mad It's much more fun, I must confess When you lengthen a video speaking your mind Not mine, of course, but yours, old girl Now that'd be just fine. Complete this fast or you will have to Answer the mods for this heinous act Oh, brother, this is something This game's already got me in a spin You can't comprehend the position I've put myself in It's hopeless, I'm finished My free time hasn't got a prayer 'Cause she's The Void Burger And from this thread, I ain't going nowhere. Sorry if this too hammy, but thank you for doing another LP, VB!

Gensuki posted:Banjo Tooie had Dynamic Music, but if you count different renditions of the same tune, they only had like 3 songs I think...Overworld, Level, and Boss. There were way more than that. In Banjo Kazooie, levels had different music for different areas within themselves, and would fade between them on the fly. Most levels, in addition to their "Level" theme, also had music for Interiors/Caves, Underwater, and an ambient sound effect track for when you were high in the sky. Most major landmarks within a level also had their own slight variations on the level theme. In Tooie they got even crazier with it. Each level had tons of musical variations, and of course the amazing boss remixes for each level. The way the N64 did music was more akin to a MIDI format than MP3, making it easy both to store a lot of music information and load it lightning-fast to suit different situations. Rare is probably the only company to take full advantage of this feature. Even Nintendo didn't really do it. (There was a little of it in the Zelda games, I guess, but the tracks didn't fade dynamically so much as they just abruptly switched to the combat theme when enemies would get near.)

Not including the movie, I own three pieces of NMBC merch, which I guess constitutes a small collection maybe? Incidentally, I've never bought any NMBC stuff for myself despite my love of the movie, it's all been Christmas gifts, including both versions of the movie I've owned (DVD and Blu-Ray, though we did have a "family" copy on VHS). Please excuse the lovely phone quality because that's all I have. Socks that I'm 99% sure were bought at Hot Topic. Maybe not though because I can't imagine for a second my mom walking into a Hot Topic going "Gee I wonder what pair of socks my son would enjoy for his Christmas gift." To be fair I love this pair because they get nice and warm after a while, so I still wear them every once in a while around when it starts to get cold. This on the other hand I have no idea where the gently caress it came from. It's not black enough for Hot Topic. I also haven't worn it in years so I don't know why I still have it! This on the other hand is cool as poo poo. It's filled with concept art, set pictures, interviews, etc etc. I love seeing stuff like this get made and I'm sad more stop-motion stuff isn't being made. I understand it takes a long rear end time, but it really is super fascinating.

As a heads up, a corpuscle (I'm terrible at describing phonetic breakdowns but it's pronounced like core-pus-sol)doesn't have to be red or white cells. Some of them, like pacinian and meissner's corpuscles are nerve endings sensing pressure/vibration and fine touch respectively. I don't know what they really actually look like since that was beyond the scope they taught us but they can be different colors depending on the stain used. The common stain has them appearing pink with little blue dots for the nuclei. Bit of first-year medical school histology for you there.

Jumping on the Jack Crap bandwagon, I found this at the supermarket today; According to the wrapper, it's official NMBC merch, but it certainly don't look the part. I'm a bit afraid to eat it, honestly. It certainly doesn't look all that good. I also managed to fish this out of my closet; I'm pretty sure I got it at a Disney store. It looks really badass, or at least I thought it did when I bought it.
