The early heisei series have plenty of goofy comedy, I don't know why people keep categorising them as overly serious. Where Gaim is going is about par for the course, and it's not like they don't have a sense of humour about how silly the motif is. I am seconding the recommendations for Ryuki though, it is a lot of fun and pretty unique as far as Riders go.
