If the three star kept some sort of power agnostic abilities that is useful, then it might be cool. For example, I think 3* Thanos purple should also lock the board. That would be a lot more interesting. Ironman's yellow is a pretty cool power for a three star...more of that.

Hulkling? Another character I've never heard of who has weird what-if powers that I have to memorize? Ugh. I'd rather have another Iron Man suit with straightforward powers or whatever.

Note: Just as Wiccan is not a Wiccan (nor an Asgardian), Hulking is not a Hulk. But yeah, I can only read an ability description for so long until I wait to see what the consensus is about whether he's a good character or not. I see they're playing hardball with this alliance event.

I do like how this alliance event appears to be broken. All the boards have character titles like you would expect, but you can just put any old character in the middle spot. Makes it pretty simple to just zip through all the boards every 8 hours.

I mean i've just been annihilating nodes with BRB, Polaris, R&G4 - but I guess it's nice for newer players who might feel left out of Alliance events? EDIT: I've taken over the running of mobile games before, and there's always a hunger to poke around and see why things are like they are and what happens when you change things, so I would imagine this will continue for a while. It makes up for the previous event, when the lvl 1 boss could one shot the limited number of selectable characters on the second turn.

The update also mentioned that they lowered the cost of slots from 2000HP down to 1200, for slots over 300. So if you have more than 300 heroes, the extra slots would cost 1200 each rather than 2000. But aren't there only about 270 characters? Who is buying 30+ slots to dupe heroes?

They probably have one of every character max level, but they also don’t want to let all the extra covers go to waste when drawing for the new characters that come out every other week. So they are probably up at like 400 slots. At least that is speculation on my part. I am apparently at 230 heroes, but my slots have been at 1000hp for a long time.

I'm not there yet, but I do keep an extra copy of any 3* that I already have maxed champed until they are champed before selling the max one in case it's needed in one of the missions. This only results in a few extra, but I could see doing that if I had maxed 4 and 5* which should apply to me around the heat death of the universe.

There were a couple of champions who were amazing when featured that I kept at max level(plus IM40 to keep him alive in 4* fights) and started another slot for cover farming. I usually had enough passive HP for new champ release since I wasn't hardcore enough to consistently get 5* champs.

Fun fact - if you’re in the Sinister 6 event and there’s not a free tile for Doc Ock’s reactor when you start the fight, he just dies. It takes effort to do this, so it’s probably fair?

So am I just having bad luck or did all the free 5 stars and other stuff mess up lower rank PVP match making? I'm currently working on rostering all the 3 stars and I have a handful of 4 stars and 1 5 star. I have been getting matched with people that kick my rear end so bad I am blowing 2 heal packs per PVP match just to keep going and the wins are by a slim margin. On top of the guest unit basically being a liability. Did I gently caress myself over by actually rostering Shehulk when I got her from the guild event?

I don't know exactly how the math works, but it goes something like this - If you have only 3* characters in your entire collection unlocked, you are going to get paired up with teams of similar power levels. That's not to say you won't see any 4* or 5* opponents in PvP, but you should see less of them. As soon as you unlock a 4* or 5* in your roster at all, that bumps you up to a group of opponents that will also have more 4* & 5* characters. And you are at a double disadvantage because even if you put that 5* on your active team, they have all of one level of one power unlocked. If you are lucky, maybe you drew 2 during the event, but still, at best, they should just be a shield, absorbing what hits they can, while your 3* guys try to deal damage. To put it another way, I'd sooner take on a team of 4* with 1 power unlocked (lvl 70) as a team of fully powered 3* than going the other way. That's sometimes a better gauge of how hard they will hit rather than the level displayed under their preview. I don't know if selling off your 5* will drop you back down to a manageable PvP tier or not.

I had read that an unleveled 5 star wasn't part of MMR calculations but I guess that wasn't 100% true. Oh well. Hopefully it normalizes to something less miserable in the next week or two

The scaling uses your three highest levels, it's not about star level, but obviously 5 and 4 stars start at higher levels, so may push you up. Take the average of your highest three leveled character and that is your PVP level range (plus or minus some percentage). For example, my highest three are 451 375 350 so my average is 392

Just checking in on the thread. Looks like we got a bunch of updated rewards to support newer characters? There’s also now a . . . *squints at character list* a monkey assassin? Two monkey assassins? Any burning issues with Pizza Dog?
