I'd be interested in an invite. I don't play a ton, but this game doesn't seem like it's going to get goon rushed. Thanks! PSN: ItsTryke

Sent, sent, sent. I'm going to be picking up one of those Pulse Elite headsets once my next paycheck hits, that little bud they included with the console is a tragedy.

Holy moly was that ending ever slapdash. That last fight wasn't even hard or fun, just annoying and buggy. Then...a twist! And a last shot. Fin. Yikes, Guerrilla. I know this was a launch title and you've never been great at single player campaigns but this was just awful. Thanks for the eye candy at least! I like the MP, but most of my friends are on BF4 and KZ's already declining MP hurts. Shadow Fall was ultimately a beautiful but very shallow game. I know there probably isn't an answer, but maybe I missed it in the Dossiers, Comic Pages and Newspapers I completely skipped over: What, exactly, was the weapon that made that scientist - Masar I think? - so important? It seemed like a viral weapon/biological warfare thing but I don't think it was ever elaborated on? Also, thanks, game, for taking killing Revan out of my hands completely. That was the one thing I really wish I could have had the option of doing myself, instead of taking it away entirely. I didn't even care about the Helghan leader. ex post facho fucked around with this message at 18:16 on Feb 16, 2014 |

Plot spoilers. It was a bio-weapon. It was originally being developed in such a way that it specifically targeted Helghast only, not humans. According to Sinclair it was intended as a deterrent ("Quit being a bunch of assholes or we'll finish up that failed genocide.") However, Massar went a little bit loopy and started changing it to target humans. So the VSA was after Massar to stop her from constructing the "wrong" virus and, if captured alive, get her back to working on the "right" one. The Helghast wanted the opposite.

Something I was curious about. Was there ever a game before Killzone 2 that had the Warzone-style mode of shifting objectives mid-match, or did Killzone 2 straight-up invent that?

I've been burning through this game's hard mode these past few days and I haven't hit a snag until just recently. There's this one segment of one of the later levels where you have to defend the female helghast character while she hacks a computer. During this segment, you the player need to hack two or more doors to stop an endlessly respawning wave of enemies. The first door is no problem at all, but the second is strange. These two attack drones come in and will shoot down your OWL if it begins hacking the door. While my normal solution to this problem would be to shoot them down, they seem to be completely invincible. After two rockets they begin sparking and acting somewhat differently, but after the subsequent 16 rockets that all made contact (along with all the ammo in the charge and shoot gun you are always equipped with, every shot of which made contact), I'm convinced that these drones are invincible. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, or is this just another one of the many game-breaking glitches that came with it? EDIT: Just tried this part again, killed both drones on my first attempt with one and a half mags of the Pulver. Pretty sure the game was just glitching earlier. So I am guessing that there is no auto team balance? I was playing a Team Deathmatch earlier and pretty much trapped in spawn. I checked the scoreboard and noticed that it was a team of 6 vs either 1 or 2 of us.

Has anyone had any trouble completing Chapter 7 of the campaign due to technical difficulties? I'm at the part where you escort Massar's container in zero gravity across a rail and have to use a rocket launcher to shoot down other containers/droids as you go. At the end, orange force fields are supposed to disappear as Massar says "That's it!" and another door opens that allows you to open an airlock, but that never happens for me. The container goes through the solid door and asks me to complete the next objective, which is impossible. I don't think there's anything I need to do to trigger this event based on videos I've watched. It seems like I get less containers that need to be blasted out of the way, but I chalked that up to the difficult setting. I'm hoping there's some easy trick to this I'm missing. I really just want to finish the campaign and be done with it.

So uhh... Its the player ever supposed to like the ISA ever? Like it seems like the entire game is just going "holy poo poo look at how evil the dudes you are playing as are". I spent the whole time wishing my character could at least be a little aware of all the awful poo poo they had done, while the Helghast just tried really hard to not die. The taking back their home from the helghast fell flat because it was *their* home in the first place.

I don't think you're supposed to like either side. This is the first installment of the series that I played and went into it without any knowledge of the other games. And the way the plot unfolded to me is that the oh so good ISA with it's sparkling white cities isn't the poor society that only tries to protect itself against the evil Helghast.

I haven't played any previous KZ game either but thought it was supposed to be analogous to Israel/Palestine. Both sides trying to paint the other side as evil while doing some pretty horrible poo poo to each other.

So the multiplayer has been kind of a breath of fresh air. The high health game play is something I haven't done in ages, though it feels like it makes lag much more pronounced. I have a pretty decent connection but there are times a player will lag up to me and after I shoot 20 rounds in their face I find my arm twisted and a knife in my back. One shot melees are also kinda of annoying when it seems like the sickle fires unicorn dreams. Though it does make me wonder, what are considered some of the better guns? The LMG has been okay, and the scout burst smg is a good time too. Does range actually mean accuracy? Does the base sights give better accuracy compared to scopes? It claims to increase it.
