My friends and I did a little tester footage of a concept we might expand into for a Northern New York sort of daytime television channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkHGYkUwOwQ I hope it's terrible in all the right ways.

I think the hair & outfit is funny as well as the fact that he's cradling a PS1 (altho I think it'd be funnier if attention wasn't drawn to it). But the filter you put on the video doesn't look retro or intentionally degraded in the way I think you're aiming for? I dunno, it bugs me because it just makes everything kind of generally unpleasant to look at, just in a sort of obnoxious way. Also your friend (if that's who's in the video) seems less like he's doing a funny impression and more like he's imitating someone with a learning disability. Also it doesn't really look much like the thing you're aping besides the text at the bottom kinda (the camera is way too active imo). Those are my suggestions!!!

Both are showing up at the same video (Fury Road). GREAT piece, though. You sound an awful lot like Mark Cousins, which is a good thing.

I like Mark Cousins a lot and it wasn't until someone else mentioned it too that I noticed the similarity. I tried a more energetic narration before and it just doesn't suit my voice I think so I went with the more relaxed tone for these videos.

This is in part a warm up for more serious/scripted short films I'll be shooting this year and a camera test. It's entirely improvised the only pre-planning involved was deciding what props to take with. clábar (2016) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qVuW_YPQTU

I hope this is the right place to promote this, but a couple of internet buddies of mine (I.E. not myself so technically this isn't self-promotion. If this needs to be moved I will gladly do so) are making an effort to begin restoring forgotten silent films, starting with Frank Borzage's 1922 film The Pride of Palomar. People on this forum go on about how important film preservation is to them when complaining about George Lucas' changes to Star Wars and the like. Well, here's a chance to actually help restore a film- even donating just a few dollars would massively help their effort. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1370529624/release-a-forgotten-film-by-a-master-of-silent-cin?ref=user_menu

like you wanna do this right? do a straight line read, with the lines just off camera on a big piece of poster board. no dumb accent (seriously, "retarded southerner" for a Northern New York thing?) just stilted as gently caress reading. the camera holds still on someone who is clearly uncomfortable doing it and has no idea what they're doing

I am sorry you were both disappointed with my video. Hopefully this plug/disparaging of old video games I made in high school will be better. I did it as an editing practice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYV8y2-ZyQc

Hey everybody! I know it's been awhile since I've posted on here, but my film review/mixology podcast Alcohollywood has finally launched a Patreon 250 episodes in, with a bevy of perks (merch, bonus content, cocktail recipe cards, etc.) and a number of ways to contribute. We've grown quite a bit in the last five years, snagging bigger film critics as guests (Nathan Rabin, Keith Phipps, John Campea) and we're hoping to keep our upward trajectory going. Please take a look and contribute/give feedback/spread the word as you like.

I do a podcast with my brother called Spall Talk, in which we discuss the career of Timothy Spall. We've got 5 episodes so far and I'd say a few of them are okay.

While I don't have much to say on the video itself, I'll say that your highschool-made hobby games already look far beyond the quality of standard ones released on itch.io today. I made poo poo way worse than what you're peddling there in high-school, so good on ya! For what that's worth. Also! I have just recently discovered this thread which is awesome because I've been looking for excuses to share my final Animation project that just earned me my degree. It's a horrific little live-action/3D animation hybrid called Pizza Party - inspired by Adult Swim-esque weird shorts. I directed, storyboarded, animated, and led the art direction for this fella! Had a surprisingly loyal crew of fellow animators and students working on this over the course of a few months, and I'm pretty proud of the result! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7aFulOs0Xg

God dammit, not sure how that happened. Suspect the boy, as Gon Smithe did too. Sorry! That said, I'm not sure how he managed to type a few word properly, like "lady" and "Rhythm". He can ony just write his own name. Hmmm... suspicious.

Maybe he's been possessed by a spirit from another world. Perhaps you should consult an exorcist.

He has obviously been replaced with a changeling. Your child has been whisked away to the world of the hidden folk and in his place is a ancient fairy glamored to look like him, and as the fair folk tend to do he is causing mischief. You just need to find out his real name so you can use it to gain dominion over him and force him to return your son. Actual self promotion: I did a thing a few months back https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXMbR0LhC1A I am working on maybe turning this fake thing into a real thing.
