Figured since most of us spend a large amount of time on the internet why not talk about how we love our ISP's?

I pay 49.99/mo for these speeds, and this is on a night where netflix is probably running full speed on my ring.

So far no problems with port 80/443 which surpises me because I though verizon were dicks.

Assuming you don't have TV or phone through them:

Buy whatever router you like with an Ethernet WAN port

Hook router directly to the RJ45 port on your ONT (you will need to take off the cover that says "user service" to get at it.)

Call Verizon tech support and ask them to switch your ONT from coax to Ethernet

Ask them to release the DHCP lease so your router can pull a new IP

Profit!

You can still do it if you have TV/Phone (I have TV), but the topology is a little more complex, since you need to use the ActionTec as a MoCA bridge.
