So has anyone looked into dual wielding the skill+ weapons? I've got an ilevel 106 and 105 dagger, and was looking at the skills for them. If I equip either in main or off hand, they don't raise the dagger skill in the combat screen menu at all. The parrying skill however, does get raised, but only by whatever is in the mainhand. Has anyone on like bg or ffxiah or anything done testing about it?

That makes sense, but I guess now I'm wondering if the offhand gets the bonuses at all, since the parrying increase from the offhand dagger doesn't show up?

Back a while ago it was up in the air whether it was better to do DNC/no sub for white procs, or THF/DNC for treasure hunter and to just mow through mobs faster.

The problem with Nyzul wouldn't so much be two people having trouble advancing cause of enemies or time, you just mainly run the risk of getting jammed up by a lamps floor that requires more than two people to hit lamps at the same time

My advice, Copycat, is really only do a relic or dharp or anything if you actually really like the game. Doing those items just to get accepted into other events or linkshells is just a sure-fire way to make you hate the game

Whenever anyone talks about the goonshell being a good place/goons being active, I pretty much just all assume you're talking about me. You're all too kind!

Some friends and I made that climb a couple times a week because we used to spam the ENM up there, the antlion one, for some easy exp in an event and the TP Bonus Great Katana dropped semi-regularly for some decent but not incredible exp and cash flow. Because of that I am confident I could still run up that dumb mountain over a decade later. This thought also sent me on a trip of even remembering ENM's were a thing. We used to do the Brothers one in Uleguerand Range too for exp when we didn't feel like partying. I don't thing it really dropped anything regularly. Did anyone ever do ENM's?

I've been playing as a new guy and soloing and mage jobs have a lot of extra spells and skill ups that can be slow. Any of the melee jobs - Warrior, Samurai, Dragoon, even the tankier guys like Paladin are lots of fun. That being said with the way the game works now, it's pretty quick and easy to level up and fool around with and gear up a job so you'll probably figure out what you like and don't like pretty quick.

I play on full size keyboard set up, which changes movement over to the numpad and makes it so just typing DOES bring up the chat window..!!

I loved all the weird items in ffxi. By toau the only way I could get my paladin into decent merit parties was to do pld/nin with joyeuse and the justice sword, which I got from some random rmt groups that were in Sea at the time and didn’t have a buyer for it so I got it for cheap. Thank u rmt’s. Had to learn how to solo the big VT shark guys near Temenos in order to reliably get fuckin organs for the justice sword. Which actually involved switching over to staff and fighting them down using Spirit Taker and drat I love ffxi just talking about this stuff

I like the full-size keyboard layout, where you use the numpad for movement, arrows for moving the camera. You can control pretty much the whole game one handed, and then a mix of F8 / Tab with your left hand to select monsters and use your macros. The mouse is never touched. WASD and etc are just letters for typing.

FFXIV Porn posted:- having to target doors and open them instead of just walking through. minor thing but it hosed me up for a bit before i realized that's how they worked. Luckily FFXI is old and janky enough that there are also a bunch of doors that just automatically open, or better yet, are just walls you run through.

RazeChildren posted:3) Crafting seems to be purely RNG percentage-based results as an output of your crafting level and the synth's requirements. They did not incorporate any of the complexities of the retail crafting system (because I guess people baldly assert that these complexities never existed??? Those of us who captured and analyzed the data know better...). Are there more complexities? Are you referring to like, being certain skill points above a requirement makes you more likely to HQ. Or do you mean all that stuff abotu directions to face while crafting was all true!???
