I'm assuming everyone knows about it, but Song Exploder on Netflix has an episode on Hurt. It's pretty good.

I remember it coming out like it was yesterday.

Here's Alessandro demonstrating a cool synth:

Alessandro's solo work is fantastic, I listen to it all the time at work. It's great for background ambient music with no vocals.

Sonoio (his band that does have vocals) is also really good.

A playlist of both if anyone cares.

The packaging is amazing.

Rob Sheridan is a good Twitter follow if you like his artwork.
He just posted a thread about his work on the Downward Spiral remaster, including a making of the Closer video that I hadn't seen before.

This is going to get lost in the new song chat (listening now) but my favorite song off of The Slip has been "the four of us are dying" since I first heard it. There's just something I absolutely love about that bassline.

The podcast "Difficult Artist" has an interview with Reznor this week.
Nothing exactly groundbreaking, but he doesn't seem to do a lot of interviews so I figured it's worth posting.

"Now I'm slipping on the tears you made me cry" still gets a chuckle out of me. PHM is loaded with these kinds of lines now that I think about it.

Yeah that's the one that gets me.
If he changed it to "drowning in the tears you made me cry" it would be still be bad, but would just be bad "high schooler emo kid got dumped" lyrics, but "slipping" just makes the poor kid a total klutz too.

I gotta rewatch my copy on Saturday!

don't forget about the easter eggs on the dvd.

quote:

Most of the eggs are available via a hidden menu on Disc Two. In order to get to it, during "Head Like A Hole" at around the 11:20 mark, hit 7 on your remote. You will then be dropped into the secret menu called "Beneath The Surface" where the following eggs appear:

-"Reptile" live performance
-Video for "The Day The World Went Away"
-ninetynine commercial
-"The Fragile" commercial
-"Things Falling Apart" commercial
-NIN and Marilyn Manson doing part of "Starfuckers" and "Beautiful People".

Some other easter eggs are as follows…

-On Disc One, while "Gave Up" is playing near the 26:58 mark, press your Enter button on your remote. You then get a wide shot of the stage for the song.

-During the beginning of the performance of "Gave Up", hit ENTER a bunch of times. Keep hitting ENTER and you should eventually be taken to a camera's angle of the song from the crowd's point of view.
Edit: Can you even do those with an xbox/ps if you don't have the media remote?

They just added a show in Philly, but it's a venue that only seats 3500. Here's hoping.
Edit: 2000 people in the queue ahead of me. I like my chances.
Edit2: I actually managed to snag one. hell yeah.
Edit3: Second show added today. I grabbed 2 to that one as well. Not sure if I'm going to try and sell my first one or just go to both shows.

I was hoping the show poster would be one of those really cool illustrated ones but it’s just a concert pic. On the other hand it’s really high quality paper. It’s for both nights so I save money that way I guess.
