So I'm thinking of getting a tablet for reading comics, watching movies, flipping through big textbook pdfs on something more portable than my heavy laptop, and in general doing standard tablet stuff like going through RSS feeds, web browsing, etc. Maybe play some games too. Any specific recommendations? I'm torn between the Nexus 7 and the iPad Retina Mini.

Gotcha. I've never used an Android before, and I do have an iPhone 4. Is the Android user friendly enough for me to hop in? I hear a lot about rooting and such.
