 Hello goons and welcome to the Sims 3 University! I know a Sims 3 LP just ended (by the way, check it out here, its hilarious) but since that started there's been a few expansions that add a lot of fun stuff to the game that apples never got the opportunity to show off. So let's do that! What expansions are we running with here? Well I have a problem. That problem is that I can't seem to stop giving EA money. So I am running every single expansion released for the Sims 3, as well as some of the stuff packs and oodles of store content! That means we have Ambitions, World Adventures, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise and Into the Future, the latter two being acquired during the LP! Its a lot of content to show off and I'll try my best, but our main focus here will be the University, and getting six unlucky sims through their academic careers successfully! Each degree is comprised of 48 credits, and not only can you choose how many terms you go for, but you can choose how many credits you are going for per term! Our goons in this LP will be at university for two sets of two terms, each worth 12 credits each! I will be as hands-off as I possibly can, only intervening when I absolutely have to, or to make sims do things they can't/wont do autonomously. Yesss so excited for this. Faerie's got a shitload of expansions I've never seen before and I loved the Sims 2 University pack. This is gonna be great I just know it  Ugh that poor science sim has the worst schedule. An 8AM lecture and a 4PM lecture with nothing in between? Suuucks

As someone who has just had their last exam of a post-grad course, this is incredibly well-timed. What are the actual benefits from majoring in something? Do you just start out at a higher level when picking a job/career or do you receive a higher pay at every level compared to a high school graduate?

As a struggling uni student I'll enjoy this LP, though I probably won't toss my hat into the ring. Tried base Sims 3 a while ago, but got bored of it. Are any of the expansion packs particularly good?

Depending on your grade you'll start higher up the ladder than a high school graduate, and will recieve the maximum possible pay for your job level. Also, Goonhouse is full! I will still be making goons into NPC students though so you can still make an appearance! Introductory uodate will be up soon!

As you read this update, keep in mind that I am not directing sims at all. I have installed some mods that make a few changes but unless its absolutely necessary, I'm simply observing and not interfering with whatever unfolds. Update 0.5 - Meet The Goons  So I'm sure you're all dying to find out who your unfortunate students will be for these four terms. Well, let's meet them! But first, in the newest Sims 3 patch, they added something kinda cool that I simply must show off.  While you're waiting for a savegame to load, these screens replace the loading screen. The game throws up a random promotional picture from a random expansion or stuff pack and below the loading bar it'll give you the names of items or things in the picture. Click on them and you get lifetime happiness for your sims that is equally distributed between all sims in the household. Its a fun way to pass the time while sitting through one of the games many many loading screens but as fun and as neat as it is, I think EA's time could've been better spent actually optimising their game so you wouldn't need to play minigames to forget that you're in a loading screen. Anyway! Once we get past that, I moved our goons into a temporary house because the game is dumb and doesn't let you create Sims and put them straight into university. So shall we meet them before they head off to school? Goon #1  Yapping Eevee aka Eevee Traits: Couch Potato, Dislikes Children, Good, Good Sense of Humour, Unlucky Major: Communications Goon #2  1000Dachshunds Traits: Artistic, Eccentric, Neat, Hot-Headed, Neurotic Major: Fine Arts Goon #3  Roar Traits: Bookworm, Friendly, Heavy Sleeper, Couch Potato, Easily Impressed Major: Fine Arts (Its okay little buddy, don't be scared  )Goon #4  jimmydalad aka Jimmy Traits: Dramatic, Slob, Excitable, Over-Emotional, Virtuoso Major: Fine Arts Goon #5  Snugglecakes Traits: Brooding, Loves the Outdoors, Disciplined, Adventurous, Eccentric Major: Communications and finally, our specialest of special guests, lifter of Sims LP curses and at least partially responsible for bringing us Zael's Butt.. Goon #6  eating only apples Traits: Neurotic, Socially Awkward, Hopeless Romantic, Over-Emotional, Dramatic Major: Science and Medicine Say hi to your students, folks! After doing their aptitude tests and realising that none of them would get any scholarships, it was time to enrol!  (oh god they are all going to fail horribly) Off to University they go! Some of the gang gathered in front of the chosen dorm to enjoy the new sights, sounds and smells around campus and get used to their new home. Other people had...  ...different ideas. I'm imagining that Dean from Futurama who would constantly yell about Robot House being the frazzeled patrician who runs this mad institution trying to bring order to no availe.

I've been working my butt off getting everyone who asked to be Simmed into University and you're all on campus! Good job! That being said, actual update should be up a little later tonight. I'm aiming to have at least one update per week since I'm doing this around being an actual university student and I have two assignments due before the 20th but I will 100% promise you at the very least one a week. Possibly more during my two week christmas break, so look forward to that!

There wasn't really as many as I was expecting there to be! I managed to fill a dorm with other goons though, so 8 plus the six we have is 14 in all. Not a majority but still a significant amount.

Update 01 - BIDEO GAEMZ Last we left our students, they were making out in front of the dorms. After hovering over them for a few minutes I realised that their sudden onset horniness was actually my fault. I'd changed something in one of my mods to a number that it really shouldn't have been. I debated not fixing it because it would be funny but then I realised that perving on a bunch of Sims based on real people constantly having sex is more than a little bit weird so it has been fixed. That said, we rejoin our goonhouse where I left them; in various states of undress around the dorm.  Well maybe it wasn't entirely my fault. It appears that some Sims are just like that.  Roar stands in the middle of the living room looking utterly terrified. You're probably right, dude. Class doesn't start until tomorrow so we have some time to get familiar with our schedules! Fine Arts - Dachshunds , Jimmy and Roar  Communications - Eevee and Snugglecakes  Science and Medicine - eating only apples  Its full but not too full and there'll be plenty of time for socialising, shennanigans and failure between these classes....and classes can always be skipped if there isn't!  Back to our Sims, Dachshunds and Snuggles are arguing about....brown?  Despite it being roughly 11am, Eevee has decided to change into his jammies and stand around in the living room staring at people in his totally not nyan cat shirt.  Luckily he soon puts on some pants as the University Meet and Greet is announced! This will always pop up after a couple of sim-hours of being at University and is basically your Sims chance to meet their professors and get free poo poo. Its also a way to introduce the player to one of the buildings on campus, so everyone puts on some real clothes and heads over to the student union building!  While you're around the llama mascot that hangs around the building constantly, you get this happy moodlet. "School Pride" gives you +15 to your mood and as well as being gained by Mr Llama, you also get it from watching a sports game at the stadium where "your" team wins! Go Llamas! You'll also notice and sun and moon next to Eevee's portrait. The moon denotes the phase that the moon is currently in -- important for werewolves! The sun switches depending on the season, a sun for summer, a leaf for autumn, a snowflake for winter and a flower for spring.  Eevee heads straight for one of the "free poo poo" stands. From here you can get free candy bars, soda, frisbees, kicky balls and a curriculum in case you didn't know how to check your academic record for your class schedule. You can also summon a professor to talk to. Sims will automatically head towards this when going to the Meet and Greet and will always pick up a free candy bar/soda can so they have something to snack on if they happen to be in the building for a while. The Student Union building isn't just a meeting place and a repository for Free poo poo. Its also where a lot of class activities and lectures happen. Time for a little tour.  This is the Science room and these are Science Research machines, as demonstrated by our llama friend. Science students can come here whenever they like to engage in important research, which boosts their grade and of course their Science skill!  Here we have the Technology room, which is currently filled with weirdos. Technology students can come here to fiddle and tinker with various computers and gizmos, which contributes to their grade and their Handiness skill. The whiteboards in the back can also be used to solve equations, design things or draw medical diagrams which are also things that boost grades and skills for the relevant majors!  Here's the lecture room! Sims take lectures here (duh) but Business and Communications majors can also use this podium to talk at people and raise their Charisma skill, so long as a professor isn't currently using it.  Upstairs we have the Student Union proper. It has vending machines, a bar, a few games like pool and table football, and a coffee bar! There's also tables and things so students can gather and study together. Our goons, though?    Straight to the videogames! Get used to seeing Snuggles here, by the way.  Roar decides to give a presentation on....something. Whatever it is, he's super excited about it!  Eevee is not quite so impressed.   Jimmy gets stuck in with table football by himself. I refuse to call it foosball.  But he's not alone for long, and Roar quickly joins to do something that's not looking like a deer caught in headlights and getting excited over swirly patterned ringed planets.  Eevee, having learned all he can from Roar's little presentation, leaves to go back to the dorms.  Its been at least four hours since they arrived and Dachshunds and Snuggles are still gaming on the exact same machines they were playing on when they got here. For the record, each session on the arcade games costs 5 simoleans. The household had roughly 7k when they started playing. This update ended with around 6k. You do the maths.  Roar decides to eat his candy bar and immediately regrets it.  Six hours later, Jimmy finally leaves to go home. Speaking of, let's check up on Eevee!  He's in the bathroom, broadcasting radio! This mini broadcast tower is a special object given to Communication majors. Its available in the build/buy catalog but Comm majors get it in their inventory for free when they enrol. Using it lets you broadcast pirate radio, or on the campus radio station, and doing so contributes to your grade. Its not helping him right now though as the term technically hasn't started yet.  Seven hours later, and Snuggles is still playing games, this time joined by Roar.  I scrolled over to check on Apples and Dachshunds and they were doing this in the bathroom. I love how whenever I catch her in a screenshot, Dachshunds looks like she's about to stab someone.  Eight hours later, someone finally discovers that this place has a bar!  Apples takes a break from Dachshunds ' death glare to give a presentation on...fluffy bunnies? She seems pretty adamant about it, whatever it is.  Back at home, Eevee is telling ghost stories! This is a new interaction that was added in Generations, a Sim will gather everyone around and tell them a ghost story, complete with torch under their chin, spooky pictures and weird noises. When they finish, you get a dialog box with the end of the story.   So after another hour passes with not much happening, we reach midnight on the first day of university. Let's see where everyone is as the update ends!  Jimmy is asleep at a reasonable time.  ...as is Apples.  Eevee is contemplating waffles. (Not pictured: Dachshunds walking home and Snuggles in bed after spending literally hundreds of simoleans and eight straight hours on arcade machines) As for Roar...?   VIDEO GAMES

Spending hours playing videogames is basicly the best way for a Sims 3 LP starring goons to start. Hope eating apples has managed to break the Sims LP curse finally and that this one also finishes.
