I sort of enjoyed both parts but I felt the whole thing was a bit weak. Stellan Skarsgard was fine but his whole narrative device with Joe felt indulgent. I quite like Von Trier but some of the scenes felt juvenile even by his standards. The dialogue isn't great at times and it feels like it tries to be more clever than it is. You'll probably enjoy this if you like his other work though.
