I always liked the Flag of Nepal in those "Flags of the World" pictures, as it's the only one that really stands out since it's the only non-rectangle one:

Continuing the slightly creepy Dutch theme: The 'Bloedvlag' (Bloodflag) of the Dutch navy, raised when poo poo was on, no quarter given etc.

Reminds me of the Bedford Flag which (allegedly) flew at the Battle of Concord, 1775.

Huh, that can't be a coincidence, how curious. The wiki page doesn't mention it, but I wager the banner must have been a copy of the Dutch Republic's bloodflag. That one had been in use from sometime around the late 1580-1590's. Or maybe the design predates both uses?

Well it was flown in Massachusetts but New York was originally dutch so it could've been passed down.

Specifically, in the flag of Morocco, it's meant to be the seal of King Solomon. According to some myths, Solomon had a magical signet ring that he used to bind and imprison demons and evil djinn - maybe that's where the demonic association came from?

The seal of Solomon also appears on the Ethiopian flag - though, oddly, only the modern republic flag, never when the country was ruled by kings who claimed decent from Solomon.

The seal's also sometimes depicted as a six-pointed star, like the Star of David. Not sure if there's a connection; if there is, it means there's a Muslim, Christian and Jewish country each with the seal on their flag!

The royal ethiopian flag had the Lion of Judah on it.

This looks like some strange "what if the confederacy won the war then formed starfleet" kind of thing.

Indiana's plate until 2013 when the new uglier ones came out.

Guess which number state it is. Go on, guess.

Fun part is they changed it because red with a big star looked too communist.
