Finally watched this show, starting with the Meeseeks episode. I cannot overstate the cleverness that is present in the dialog.

Mr Meeseeks, I would like to make a thread in GBS without a poster telling me to kill myself.

Users of GBS suddenly start dying in droves. But it's not enough. More people could sign up. First, it's just the trolls of the internet by likelyhood to tell someone to commit suicide, but soon everything falls to a horrible, bloody, blue onslaught as a horde of Meeseeks tear across the world, until Jonas Albrecht is the only remaining person left alive. One by one the Meeseeks die, until there is only one left.

"You know, what if you tell yourself to kill yourself? I'm a stickler Meeseeks!"

Is this a better or worse world fate than everyone ending up as Cronenbergs?

WickedHate posted:

Everyone ending up as Cronenbergs isn't that bad if you are originally from a world where everyone was already Cronenberged.

Eh, maybe. You're still probably going to wish you were from a world where everyone was originally Cronenberged, instead of getting turned into a bunch of Cronenbergs.

Not to mention it allowed for that brilliant scene with the aliens all blaming different departments for the screw up.

Loved the son fitting all teenage rebellious "epiphanies" into his rampage.

Also, I'm seriously invested in the idea that Summer gets to keep that spaceship.

I just don't even understand what the point of that show was, there wasn't even any ball fondling. Maybe it was the non-stop action.

I'm guessing it's from a universe where Ball Fondlers just straight up means rear end kickers.

While pondering the logistics of Trunk People sex, I realized the strangest thing about that worldline is that they take political cues from a group called Michael Denny and the Denny Singers.

Rick being delighted by the fakedoors ad continuing might be my favorite part of the bit.

And then how quickly that joy turns to boredom.

Morty thinking there might be something more to it, and then realizing there wasn't was pretty good.

I just finished watching all the episodes. So is Morty the only person Rick gives a drat about? Rick does seem to care about Summer a little--only a little--but he actually gives a drat about Morty's opinion. Morty is probably some sort of elaborate experiment or something. Or a really good source of spare parts for Rick.

I think he loves his daughter.

I bet I'm reading into this like some kind of in-reader, but Rick mentions some dude who sounds like an ersatz version of Little Richards ("Tiny Rogerts, you know the black effeminate guy from the 50s?), and it makes me wonder if this Rick is not originally from the universe that would eventually become Cronenberg world.

I definitely wouldn't start with the pilot. While it's clever, funny and exceeds expectations for being a pilot, it also comes off as unnecessarily cruel and mean spirited.
