Then hook up the DC converter hot wire to the new line, taking care to make a good lasting connection. Hook the black wire up to a ground or to the frame. Then zip-tie the converter box and associated wires and run them however you best see fit.

Buy from estore009, seriously. It's worth the 4 week wait. I bought one for a little less off of eBay in the beginning of February, since estore009 was not selling again until 2/9. It came out of Illinois (so it was in-country for me) and when I got it, it looked like what I expected. However, after the first use the LCD had a whole line of dead pixels. That was the second week of February. That's also when I ordered one from estore009. I just got my refund from them two days ago, after I escalated the case and pushed them for it. I also got my new dashcam two days ago, and needless to say I can definitely tell a quality and performance difference between the two. For the same (or slightly higher) price, you definitely are getting what you pay for here.

There were about 4-6 deer standing right in the middle of the road. I had enough time to say "This is going to suck" before plowing into the middle of the group. Somehow every single one of those deer jumped to the side or straight up and I missed them all by inches. That incident is legend in my kid's Scout troop now, 5 or 6 years later. The "This is going to suck" story is repeated at every campout and passed on to new Scouts. Of course, now it was a dozen 10-point bucks, 8 mooose, and an elephant that I dodged but the story remains. I think I would have shouted something different, so props to you for good word selection there.

I hardwired my G1W to a switched fuse and had to remove it because my ground was bad and the thing wasn't shutting off when the car was. So instead of taking the easy route and finding a better ground, I decided I would solder a rectifier on it and I have yet to test this configuration, wish me luck.

Green means go only if the intersection is clear. As if this needs to be explained and isn't common sense.

I guess it makes sense then to swing a left whenever you feel like it on green as long as no opposite facing car has entered the intersection yet. I hope you're being facetious. We are talking about when the signal changes from red to green. Which is given by the context of the situation we were discussing, on the off chance that you were being serious.

Yeah, my G1W video is pretty decent, but it's a little bit grainy. When I can afford it, I'm going to purchase a Mobius and turn the G1W into a rear camera. I still haven't figured out where I will mount the camera though because I have no tint on my car windows.

I own a G1W. My recommendation is for a Mobius. For about $30 more, you get a much lower profile camera with more accessories and support available (different mounts, capacitor pack meant to replace the battery specifically for dashcam use, more reliability, equal or better video quality, consistent firmware updates, a third party Android app that allows you to adjust settings on the Mobius via USB (if your phone is compatible, there is another app that can check that)), among other things. If you don't want to spend $80 for the Mobius, you can always get the $50 G1W. But honestly if you are planning to use a dashcam for a long time, there is almost no excuse to get a G1W over a Mobius.

I was on my way home just about an hour ago and in order to do so, I have to get on the interstate. Well anyway, before turning onto the on-ramp I looked to see what traffic I should anticipate before merging, only spotting a van in the far right lane. So, I turned onto the on-ramp and headed down to merge into traffic and saw the van start to come up behind me quickly, so I slowed down since he has the right-of-way. So what does the van do? Maintain speed? Speed up? Absolutely not. The van comes to almost a complete stop in the interstate blocking me from merging. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb9wveBhfKo PS: The camera is on the passenger side of my car and skewed to the right. So when it looks like I'm driving like poo poo, it's not as bad as it looks.

mobby_6kl posted:Had this poo poo happen on our version of the interstate last week, except I was behind the guy who suddenly decided to stop to let the other one in. He gave me the finger for being upset about it. Really, this is fairly common and I see people in the right lane slow down, sometimes almost to the point of stopping, to let mergers in all the time and it's completely infuriating. Agreed, if the merging lane is close to traffic speed then it's not a big deal to slow down a little. It's when there is a huge disparity that it's ridiculous. Let the slower vehicle merge behind you so they can speed up a little more while waiting.

If I were buying today, it would be the 803... The quality is pretty good on the videos, comparable but slightly better than the G1W from the video I've taken with mine. I've got some fresh footage on my 0803, I'll try and share some tomorrow. sanchez posted:I'm pretty happy with my 0803, the mounting style makes it a lot more discreet than the G1W was, I have it mounted on the back of a toll transponder. Running it with an anker power supply rather than the adapter it came with, hopefully the power quality is better and helps its reliability some. I'm using the USB hub I posted a page or two back. It is definitely more discreet than the G1W, but I already dislike how close to the windshield the thing sits. It really picks up glare that the G1W never did because of its proximity to the windshield.
