I drive a lot for work and my old garmin gps is starting to freeze up. Been thinking about a dash cam too and found this tonight. Nuvicam http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-010-01378-01-NuviCam-LMTHD/dp/B00WAP8PI2 I'm assuming you guys are going to say it's too expensive, but keep in mind it's a write off and I don't really know how to wire stuff up. All that said am I better off going with separate gps and Dashcam?

Which dashcam to buy? Mobius or B40/A118? They're roughly the same price. No reason to buy a street guardian right? Mobius $83.99 http://www.amazon.com/Mobius-Action-Camera-1080P-Sports/dp/B00GT2B4R6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1445394065&sr=8-1&keywords=mobius Mobius dashcam package? $99.99 http://www.amazon.com/Angle-Mobius-ActionCam-Camera-Memory/dp/B00GPXYVQU B40-c $71.99 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UUQD9L6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_2&smid=A2LTP4IRWNF1QK I was leaning towards the B40 unless you guys tell me I'm wrong.

Red suv's are the best drivers on the road. I do like how the morning show I was listening too happened to play a clip of the new Adele song for exactly the right moment to catch this video. I went with the mini 0806 btw. I see crazy stuff at least once a week. We'll see how often I feel like uploading it. At least YouTube lets me edit video's easily. https://youtu.be/0iBkYdLbFog

Do you guys feel like you should stop and get email addresses to send dashcam footage to other people you see get in an accident? I didn't stop for this because I would've been way past them before I could stop and I'm not going to walk all that way back on a freeway. Dark colored car in the #1 (left) lane forgot we were in traffic and rear ends a white SUV just as they go out of frame. I'm all the way in the right lane. Edit: tried to set it to public. Thanks for heads up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQq1h1MTXXU Hdip fucked around with this message at 06:32 on Feb 14, 2016 |

I"m using that a118 linked above with the capacitor. It lives on my windshield in Los Angeles and I don't touch it. Seems to be doing fine. Set it and forget it.

My brother has people stealing stuff out of the cars parked on his street. Daylight in his neighborhood. Would a dashcam with parking mode be able to get some footage if this happens to his car? Is there one he can spin around to point at the glovebox/passenger area easily? I just have an a118 so not sure what to recommend to him.

They're not breaking windows and only taking things from the glove box is the odd thing. Trying to make it as low key as possible maybe? Or maybe just some kid in the neighborhood who thinks no one is the wiser. That's why I thought it'd be possible to get them on tape.

Nice capture. So what ended up happening to your car? Did you actually hit anything?

Stay away from my frye's! That's how this thread works right? We post when we recognize where we live? The most exciting thing I use my dash cam for is when I forget to take a picture of the house I'm inspecting. I just pull it from the dashcam. That's pretty sweet.

I'm going to borrow my brother's 12 foot camping trailer this weekend. Never really towed anything before. I was wondering if there is a wireless dashcam type thing I can use as a rearview mirror that is worth messing with. Edit: Yup I'm fully prepared to be mocked and my manhood made fun of. It's one of the reasons I got last minute reservations. I'm going with a group of people in July and want to know what I'm doing before I go with other people I know haha. Using a Toyota Sienna to tow. My brother uses his Honda Oddysey to tow it and doesn't have mirror extensions so I figure I'll just take my time and I'll be OK. Möbius A118c (new version is a119c)

A119C I think. Capacitor version since you're in hot weather. I've had the 118C in my car for a couple years now. I replaced the sticky tape on the mount once. Other than that it was just plug and play, works great. It's regularly over 100 here all summer long. It was 112 last week. (Los Angeles area)

I'm not blaming anyone, or arguing with anyone here. Just sincerely asking. To me it looks like the dashcam car pulled into a turning lane for the driveway where the other car was headed. Instead of turning into that driveway though, the dashcam car was going straight all the way to the street up ahead. Wouldn't that be driving on the shoulder and the dashcam car would be at fault?

That was nice of your dad to do a 180 spin maneuver so that his dash cam was basically a follow cam to get the accident behind him too.

I use my dashcam as a backup when I'm taking pictures of houses for real estate. So just keep it on 1 minute recording. If I miss a picture I just go through on my computer and screenshot the picture I need. That's the most useful thing I've done with it so far.

Anecdotal maybe, but I'm using this dual cam and it's working good. I use it to pull screenshots of streets/houses when I forget to take them for work. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CT6JPYW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Review of it here. https://dashcamtalk.com/viofo-a129-duo/

Lightning strike to a rockslide immediately in front of the car is probably my favorite one.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CT6JPYW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I use that in my car. I pull screenshots off of it for work every so often. I think it works well. I have it plugged into a USB port though, not hardwired exactly. EDIT: Oh other people replied See above. I guess this is a 3rd or 4th of the above opinions.

School drop off this morning was interesting. There I am waiting to turn left while telling my kids not to complain about who had more turns at subway surfer on my phone. Don't know how to make it embedded. Just click through. https://imgur.com/WPqN1bH Hdip fucked around with this message at 22:29 on Aug 24, 2021 |

Yes, white truck was turning left. I have no idea how the other car rear ended him at that speed also turning left. I thought they were going to slide into the side of my car. A piece of plastic hit the rear passenger window. I came back by after school drop off and showed the officer's the video and they gave me a link to upload it. Both driver's left in ambulance's but seemed OK according to the officers.

Probably a good case to be made that you speak with an injury attorney. They only get paid when they win the case. You'll make more money out of it and have to do less work.

If you were in the truck, why would you honk at the poor bicyclist who is yielding to you?

Leperflesh posted:I'm also looking to put a dual dashcam into my 2018 Tiguan. I don't care at all about a parking mode, I'd actually rather it just turns entirely off when I park. I also don't particularly want GPS. I don't care about a hundred bucks one way or the other so price probably doesn't matter so much. It's regularly above 100 degrees and sunny out and I'm always parked outside. Is the VIOFO A129 Plus Duo still the best option? It works in my car. I pull screenshots off of it every month or so. It's been going over a year in Los Angeles (San Fernando Valley, quite hot) sun with no issues. Exactly what I want from a dashcam.

VIOFO A129 Plus Duo has been in my car for 3 years now no issues. I just ran the cable myself tucking into the trim, down the door panels and up the A pillar. I'd buy it again. The rear camera is less useful than the front camera. Not sure I'd go dual cam next time.
